❤ Discover more about Empath from this book by Judy Dyer, pristinepublish.com/EmpathGuide "Empath: A Complete Guide for Developing Your Gift and Finding Your Sense of Self"
If you are an Empath, you probably should be used to getting exhausted and drained. The work rate of an empath is so alarming compared to that of other personalities. This work rate is not about physical strength, but mental, emotional and psychological energy. The empath is always stuck in one form of healing or the other. Recovering from physical exhaustion is not a big deal since a simple rest can do that. It's true, but when you are exhausted emotionally, mentally, and psychologically, it takes a whole lot of processes to get things back to their normal functions.
It is also worthy to note that showing empathy doesn't mean one is an empath. Anybody can show compassion, but that doesn't turn the person to be an empath. Being an empath has to do more with a more in-depth and spiritual connection.
Empaths regularly take up other people's energies even when they don't desire to do so. It is innate in them to feel the same way the person or people around them feels. The bad thing here is that it is even easier to take up the bad emotions around other than the good. Being in this state almost every time, therefore, makes empaths vulnerable and prone to exhaustion and depletion.
Researchers discovered something called "Mirror neurons". The mirror neurons are specialized brain cells that are responsible for compassion. Empaths have mirror neurons that are hyper-responsive, which makes them mirror people's emotions swiftly without breaking a sweat. These features of empaths might be a burden sometimes. For instance, when the place they find themselves always get filled with bad energies, when they have friends that continuously cause them problems, or when they're in dense areas where negative energies still flow.

The ones I let go of I used to call friends were merely energy sucking vampires who always came to take so much more than they ever gave just as someone else mentioned here. I always felt completely drained after talking on the phone with them or being in their presence. I also have to love most of my family members from afar. As a result I feel free as a bird!

    Jason I’m 38 and just over 3 years into my self love journey. I’m only just starting to learn the difference between my own emotions and the emotions I take on from others. The better you know yourself, the less external energy and emotions will affect you negatively. Put yourself first. Get to know yourself and love yourself completely. Connect with your higher self as often as you can.

  • @Victoriathelovecoach

    @Victoriathelovecoach

    Jason also try a few different methods to let go of external negative emotions or energy. For me the first step is to acknowledge the emotion I’m feeling, find where the energy is attached (heart, head etc) and then release it. To release it I usually try a barefoot walk on grass or sand or listen to calming music and visualise the bad energy leaving my body and replacing it with white light. Being an empath is supposed to be a gift, not a hindrance. 🌈⭐️ the gift being that of the ability to heal others.

    Jason I hear you! I’m sorry you’re going through such a hard time. Sometimes our life take us down some dark paths but life is not supposed to be cruel, it is supposed to take us through challenges so we can feel the ups and the downs and learn and experience different things. At the end of the day, life is ultimately about love. Love for you, and love for others. This world can be cold without true unconditional love but we must find it for ourselves first because we are all we have 24/7 for our entire lifetime.

    one of the worse disadvantage of being empathetic is that there are unscrupulous people who seem to want to mess up your conscience and trying to put the blame on you when they cannot solve their own problems. i realised there is a pattern of particular individuals who had mistreated me in the past have discontented lives of their own and most are actually narcissistic.

    yinnei1 narcissistic people are definitely most likely to be drawn to empaths because narcissists are bullying control freaks. They love to be around empaths who have not yet learned how to protect themselves from people like them for obvious reasons! Empaths who are trained on protecting themselves won’t give a narcissist the time and attention they crave and think they deserve from all. An outspoken empath may also be inclined to flat out tell them why and send them packing!

    Psychic vampires really do exist They can snd will drain you completely. I know a person who will be looking really old, because she is. After she spends 2 to 6 hours with me I look older than my 60 years and am exhausted but she looks 30 years younger. I am serious as a heart attack about this. She complains snd whines constantly. I've developed ways to stop her from sucking all my energy but shutting her down when she wants to whine, complain, and act helpless is difficult and requires way too much energy. I now tell her the steps 'she' needs to take, insist she write them down, I don't jump through hoops for her any longer., and I insist that rather than complain to me she go voice her complaints to s person with authority to help. I offer guidance and do not do it all for her. I help her only when i feel I have the energy to spare, I set limits on her visits and her phone calls. I let many of her calls go to voice mail if I'm busy or not feeling well. We have to take care if ourselves and get our charge re-newed. All of this to take my life and my energy back, to keep her from sucking it all up. I feel depleted after several hours with her and couldn't deal with it living only a few doors away. Putting some physicsl distance and barriers between us has helped some. It saved the friendship. Believe me when I tell you psychic vampires do exist anf they do drain your tank of energy. They will deplete your supply then work on depleting other's supplies. They camouflage themselves as givers by making sure they give things and frequently flatter you with compliments and excessive declarations of love and savrifice for you and how they trust only you. The truth is they are manipulating you. They find ways to be more generous, more loving, they must talk to and see you with excuses of urgency that doesn't exist, to keep your attention only on them, wanting you as their entertainment, hobby, helper, friend, mom. and they lead you to believe at least partially that they don't know that they are just tapping your keg for an energy boost. This would be fine if they didn't take too much every time. The thing is they do exist, and they are real flesh and blood people who latch on to you because they like the energy you put out. You really put out genuine loving healing vibes which attracts people. They can be taught to only take a little, that less is more but they will lead you to wonder if they know what they are doing. Not all of them consciously do this to people, they just know they feel better when your around. Many people label psychic vsmpires as Narcissists today. Do you have a psychic vampire in your life? 2019 B.E. Campbell

    Strive to become an empowered empath. You don't have to be a victim to the energy around you.

  • @andycofin6983
    @andycofin69834 жыл бұрын

    I learned at 16 that I could sense, pick up, absorb the emotional energy coming from people and finally learned 20 years later that I am empathic and an HSP. I have to self-talk a lot when I’m in public around people or I become panicked. I’ve learned to name the sensation coming off someone and it then helps me deal with the person without ignoring them (flight) or going into attack mode (fight). One way an Empath heals others is to change the person’s current thinking pattern. A calming word, a happy greeting, humor, getting them out of their own head just for a moment can stop the negative emotions flying around them like evil winged monkeys. Not only can Empaths sense the emotions and atmosphere we can sense who is affecting or infecting others. I might not be able to stop them, unless they’re doing it ignorantly. But I can lessen the severity of the negative effect on others.

    J St Anders Exactly! Lately its like my co workers who i thought of as family are all ganging up on me for every little thing. Insinuating things and kind of throwing daggers with shit like they’re throwing back in my face everytime they were caring towards me. I never ask for help. I guess they see me as too weak so they try to rescue mr but im honestly 100% independent i just feel other peoples energies so i guess i dimm myself down. I dont feel completely comfortable about people who are not of my choosing aka work space. So im just keeping my distance now. I dont need anyone feeling sorry for me. I can handle myself on my own. Me venting and being open and vulnerable to my friends shouldnt be an excuse for them to call me “very sensitive” or “too nice” or “always needing saving”. Im literally opening up to people and they’re acting all nice and caring until they have a bad day and shove their unasked for help back down my throat. Ive been spending more time on my own again doing things i like. Motivating myself, watching shows that make me feel happy. And then they ask me what i did on my days off and i say i went to the movies. To which they say by yourself? And im like yeah so they get all “Awh hun why didnt you call me” I think its more about people seeing somebody who is empathetic (they see as vulnerable) and they try to be saviors for their own ego. But the truth is, We honestly do better without people. I think empaths are evolutionary. So yes it can feel like a curse but in a way its a blessing. Cause you can help others, without being assholes about it. 🙏🏻 HAVE A GREAT WEEK

    So something I have come to understand is that our constant need to fill wholy understood by people is really a deeper symptom of the neglect. We neglect our spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and psychological well being. We neglect to love and nurture ourselves like we do to others. When we love others, we do it wholely and unconditionally, yet we become our worst enemy and allow ourselves to walk the path towards destruction. Two years ago, I crashed and burned and pretty much went dormant from the world because of the burnout being an empath can do to oneself. But slowly I am coming back into my life and it will be better then before because what's most important is that I understand me. From one empath to another. 🙂

    Taking time away from high stress situations. I had to take a few days off from work to de-escalate myself. If you don't take care of yourself, no one will. Not your job, etc. Being out in nature, away from busy parks. Woods and forests do wonders for me. The quiet is energizing. Being an empath is like a double edged sword, like a blessing and a curse. We have the blessing of helping others, being empathetic to others. Feeling joy to a higher degree, but also, feeling sadness with more depth. In the medical profession you can get hit with a multitude of feelings as you encounter people on a daily working basis. Most important, take care of yourself and know your limitations. If not, you can develop medical conditions that can be unhealthy for you. Keep a good balance.

    I agree with all of that. I live with some friends I'm close to and I've had to learn what feelings are mine and which aren't. Tip for empaths....if a feeling has no obvious internal source it's probably not yours and you need to go for a walk outside.

    Yes.. I definitely have to decompress daily, sometimes I stay in my car for 45 mins after work before getting out, I also find geology has a soothing release for me.. me uncover my stones eases my mind.. also nature.. I love hiking and just absorbing the natural beauty.. the simplicity... it's really is exhausting, my heart constantly races from my anxiety bc I'm always rushing, depleted my energy with everyone else.. even with my job in healthcare, I physically take on those ailments.. some days I feel lethargic.. its brutal.. and I really do need to incorporate more of self care than I do.. I try but man it's hard to not absorb.. and I get so sick of being bombarded with energy that is just doing the simplest of things, as in going into a store sometimes.. I had to do everything I could to compose myself for my daughters graduation and even still i had to run outside and pull it together, it was so much happening in that gymnasium. I know it immediately, my heart goes flipping and I have to leave unless I hurry up and chew up a valium which always doesnt work... I am so appreciative of this gift, but i still have not mastered STAYING grounded, even haven cut out anything negative, I still absorb way to much... I'm just tired honestly... it comes and goes but man I really am tired

    The one thing I find quite helpful is when people try to unload their fears, problems and anxieties onto you. Listen to them by all means and advise them according to your knowledge and situation, but try to remain as detached as possible. You wouldn't normally take your office work home at the end of the day,,except perhaps in an emergency or a one of situation. SO, once you've done what you can, to help, advise snd and encourage your person. Go away,,and switch of altogether. You've done all you can, remember it's their job to help themselves and NOT, just yours.

I knew what's on the right path when I stopped watching television about 6 years ago, I don't go to my Facebook page unless I'm posting something of mental value and get right off, I haven't gone on any of my social media in a couple of years to be honest. I find that me being alone really helps and living in Miami I love to go to the beach not necessarily get in the water just sitting on the sand and listening to the waves and the birds really helps. The only thing I don't know how to do is meditate because things are always running through my head and it has nothing to do with me it's always other people. Only a very very very small amount of people know of my gift and now that I have a boyfriend in which we knew each other since we were little kids but he doesn't know that part about me and I don't even know how to tell him, I'm afraid that that might scare him away. When my late 'husband figure' (A narcissist) would really get wound up he was an alcoholic, I used to visualize a shield with a mirror to reflect back to him to show him what he is doing. I felt protected. I didn't know until recently that was part of empathic life, although I knew I was an empath. I'd never looked into it too much. I led my life using much of my abilities to solve problem and protect myself. It was very enlightening. Currently I am living with CPTSD, and working hard to overcome 34 years of his abuse.

    Why do many videos use this ‘drawing/writing’ technique as they’re speaking? For some reason this drives me nuts. 😐

    You aren't obliged to watch the screen. I'm sure you're attention span isn't that weak. I mean, you have a radio, right?

    Yes, you’re right of course! I didn’t mean to sound so critical, as I really liked everything you covered in the video & should’ve mentioned that also. For some reason I ran into this several times in a row on varying subjects recently. But very good content, seems like I have more in common w/all this than I realized when I was younger. 👍

    Love the message, the drawing though is not that visually easy to sit through🌹.

    I find it annoyingly distracting, too. I like that they put some of the bullet points in writing, but the sketching is tiresome to watch.

    I believe that empaths prefer to assimilate things a little slower to get a 'feel' for the message(s). When I see this fast style of expression, I start to feel anxious... like being in a crowd and recieving an million feelings all at once. Not sure that this style of video is tolerated by empaths. And that's my explanation 😉🤗

    @@CarmelaBianchi It is good information, and note-taking is worthwhile... but presentation would be more appropriate for a subject that resonates with chaos. Empaths don't like chaos. Time-lapse sketching with a fake hand is just... odd.

    Thanks for being even between the sexes. I find when people hear empath, they think of a woman. I know more guy empaths than girls. Like me.
