I once had a close call, it was a rainy day and I was sitting in class. We were watching a video when all of a sudden the intruder/ lockdown alarm went off. My teacher thought it was just a test since the alarm went off soon after, that is until the cameras caught a man with a rifle who had entered our school then quickly left the premises. I will never forget that day

I believe this was in the beginning of my Junior year. It was the last class of the day, and the bell had rung, so we all got up and started heading out of the classroom. Not even a foot outside the door, I hear all the teachers yelling for us to get back inside. Our teacher turned the lights off, and we all huddled into the corner where someone looking in wouldn't see us. About 15 minutes later, we were allowed to leave. Turns out, it was a false alarm caused by some sort of glitch in the 911 emergency call system that I guess sent a message to our school or something. Even if it turned out to be a false alarm, I can tell you, nothing is more chilling than hearing "Lockdown, not a drill".

I remember this like it was yesterday. Once in 5th grade,I was currently in homeroom when the announcements came on. A long beep came through the speaker. It was a level one lockdown. Level one lockdowns happened all the time. It meant, someone (usually a parent) had entered the school unarmed through a different entrance than the one there supposed to use. The teacher followed protocol and continued class, Suddenly the announcements came back on, but this time it let off three long beeps. A level three lockdown…this meant that the person who supposedly entered the school “unarmed” was armed. Our teacher rushed us against the front wall, the blind spot of the doors. I started to panic, we had two doors to enter/exit the classroom, one of which’s door handle was broken, so there was no lock. So, basically there was somebody with a weapon on campus and our door had a hole in it that you could easily push open. My teacher stood against the wall in the corner next to the broken door with his hands clenched, ready to pound anyone who tried to come in. We were on the second floor of the building our classroom was right next to the stairs coming up from the first floor. I took deep breaths to stop myself from hyperventilating. Soon all I could hear was my heartbeat and slow breaths coming from my class mates. We were to scared to cry, to move, to even blink. It had been about 15 minutes and I still couldn’t hear any sirens, I started to doubt if help was even coming. Suddenly, I heard heavy footsteps, I think all of us were thinking one thing. We’re going to die. The footsteps were coming from the stairs, then I heard something else that made my heart sink. Other footsteps coming from the other end of the hall, I wondered “Is there two guns men or…was it a student who got trapped outside their classroom. The heavy footsteps were as close as ever, they were going faster as well. My best friend who was beside me started to cry so quietly that I could barely hear it, I wrapped my arms around her knowing that this might be the last moment I ever spend…well alive. Then, I heard sirens, it sounded like there was a billion going off at once. It drowned out the sound of footsteps, but one sound…was louder than them all. BAM. Then a blood curdling scream. I almost screamed myself, I clasped my hands over my mouth to stop myself from making any noises. Quiet gasps came from almost all my classmates. Finally, we heard the sound of a police officer yelling “DROP THE GUN.” We heard another bang…but we still heard the police officer talking over their radio. The police officer walked into the class room and told us to evacuate the school. We lined up single file and walked slowly out of the classroom. I almost threw up, I saw a man on the ground, gun in hand, blood pouring out of his head. Then I looked across the hall and saw 2 officers caring for what looked to be a third grader with a shout wound in his lower arm. Then all my tears that had been locked up inside of me poured out, My teacher threw open the doors to the exit. You wouldn’t believe how fast I ran to my dad. I’m in 8th grade now, it’s still traumatizing up to this day.

My school had two code blues, code red was if there was a fire. I'm not fully sure but I think code light blue was a lockdown for if someone/something was in the school and code dark blue was a hold and secure which ment someone/something was outside the school, and we could just continue on with class.

  • @lovebunnii
    @lovebunnii4 жыл бұрын

Im late and lots of people probably say this. But if you're in a lockdown and the fire alarm goes off do NOT go into the hallway to escape. Most of the time this means the shooter has pulled the fire alarm and is trying to get more victims. If anything, break the windows to get out of there. ~Edit~ I know a lot of people say this and it might be seen as annoying but thanks for the likes and comments. I've never been noticed like this lmao. I also meant to add if you actually see smoke or fire try to get out without going through the hallway. Unless you have no windows or the windows are too thick then you'll have to get low to the ground and try to crawl out another way. It's a scary situation I hope no one has to experience.

when I was in gr1 I was learning about the alphabet when suddenly the usual “this is not a drill” from the pa speakers started playing. my teacher was very calm, thank goodness. i stood up and walked silently to the corner of the room with the other kids while my teacher shut the door, locked it and shut the blinds. while she was shutting the blinds she stopped dead, everyone thought she might’ve had a heart attack on the spot or something. then she burst out laughing. little did my 6 year old self know, outside of my 1st floor classroom was the cause of this lockdown… *a raging turkey* (the turkey was chasing people trying to attack them😂😂)

Note: I was very young when this happened so I probably didn't get all the details right. I was in kindergarten when on the speakers someone said, "This is lockdown, I repeat, this is a lockdown, this is not a drill." That year was the one year that no one had explained to us kids what a lockdown was or what to do when one happened, so we were all just confused. The teacher herded us into a classroom corner where we couldn’t be seen, then took our desks and used them to barricade the doors. Some of the kids had started crying then, me not included since I was really confused, while the teacher stood with a metal bat by the door. After a bit someone from the staff I recognized the voice of ran to the door and started frantically banging on it, saying things like, “Is anybody there? Can anybody hear me? This is a lockdown! This is a lockdown!” We didn’t let her in, and she continued to do this to the other classrooms before her voice faded out of hearing distance. After a while the police came and went outside, and sometime after that we were told that we could resume our classroom activities. Our teacher kept the door locked and barricaded, and we were all still a little tense afterwards as we were doing our stuff. Luckily because I was young and didn’t really understand what was happening, I wasn’t haunted by the experience or had nightmares, and by now the memory is a little fuzzy. Turns out someone’s dog had gotten out of their backyard and started roaming the school grounds and that’s what the whole fiasco was about, lmao. Edit: NO one was injured if you were wondering

There was this creepy lady in the woods making the hand motion *come here*. Everyone started running away. Once the principle and vice principal went to go see her she was gone. Cops came and checked the woods but there was no trace of her. We don’t know what happened to her to this day.

Once there was a lockdown “drill” at my intermediate school (5th and 6th grades). The way I knew it wasn’t a drill was because the automatic transmission thing didn’t come on, but my principle came on the announcements and said “There is a lockdown drill being initiated. Please hide your students in assigned spots and lock your doors.” My friend from my second class came in and sat next to me. We had exchanged confused glances, as there was always an automatic transmission going through the speakers that never shut up. We heard a loud bang and instantly knew this wasn’t a drill. I didn’t have my phone on me, as phones aren’t allowed in the classrooms, so I couldn’t text my moms and dad (mom is Bi). I huddled close to Ev. It was about a long, hot, sweaty hour later. The classroom was filled with the quiet cries of almost 40 kids from the combined classes. My teacher from my second class lead his class back in and hid them in his emergency spot. Another hour later the announcements say that it’s over. We walk outside of the building and I see a crazed-looking man being shoved into a police car. I saw one of the other officers putting a giant gun into a briefcase, and a kid being pushed into an ambulance on a stretcher. Luckily, the kid who got shot was shot in the arm and didn’t die. Nobody else was hurt, because everyone was hiding and the school is huge

Once, we were in science class. 10 minutes into lesson, out bell went off. At first, me and all my friend thought the bell had broke. Our teacher went out to check what was happening. We had only just started year 7 and our teacher was new so we didn't know what was happening. Our teacher came back, locked the door, turned the lights off and told us to get down. Me and my best friend were sitting together under the table, crying our eyes out. Then our teacher told us all to stand up, and walk out the classroom in single file. We were all confused. We all went out and lined up on the field. Turns out it was a false alarm 😅

funny lockdown story at my elementary school (this was in 3rd grade) so my teacher (i'm gonna call her miss g) ok so miss g was chilling at her desk and i said "miss g can i go use the bathroom" she said "sure" and i went so i was taking a fat shat in the bathroom and all of a sudden i hear something along the lines of "this is not a test we are going into lockdown" and i heard a ton of classrooms nearby shutting there doors so basically i started panicking and i hear someone walking up the stairs beside the bathroom (there's a classroom then stairs then the girls bathroom and other classrooms and then the boys i was in the girls) so i stoped taking a shat it was literally hanging by a string out of my bootay hole and i heard big footsteps walking in the girls bathroom and my principal had the audacity to open the stall door WITH ME TAKING A SHAT and she told me to hurry up and i got back to my classroom. the reason we had a lockdown was a kid got outside of the school and was running around in the road

Real story that happened in my old school: So back when I was in 4th grade we were ending our class and finishing up with something when an announcement was given saying "There's a lockdown" everyone didn't hear the part where they said it wasn't a drill. We all quickly hid and stayed quiet. There were some kids that were talking, the teacher had told them to be quiet many times. After a while the teacher went ahead and said "did you all not hear that this is not a drill?" Everyone went silent and we stayed in our place. A friend of mine a bit far from where I was started to cry. Me and another friend were in a tight uncomfortable spot, I was worried and scared. It seemed that she had noticed because she smiled and whispered that it was going to be ok. The bell had rung and we were still in lockdown. Suddenly the teacher gets a call. She answers quickly so the phone wouldn't be ringing anymore. The person who had called probably hung up because the teacher then put her phone away. After a few minutes the lockdown was called off. I was a parent pick up student so I went outside. I saw that police officers where outside making sure everything and everyone was ok. I got home and my mom had said that she'd called my teacher because my dad had gone to pick me up but no one was outside. The next day it turned out that there was no intruder. They did the lockdown because there was a shooter near the school. I'm glad we did not experience an actual school shooting and I'm very sorry to those who have experienced such thing and have lost their friends or family due to that.

We had an actual lock down like 2 times last year before corana came ;-; One of the lock down (the frist one, was in December 6, 2019) it was like a actual actual lock down and, we where in lock down for 4 hour, that day it was going to be an "early release" but we ended up getting out normal school time ;-; What happend was that there was a person who shoot someone else, the person who got shoot died, this was near my school, so we had to stay there just to be safe. And when we where going fo the bus, there where so many kids even from high-school, there was barely any space for me and my sisters ;-; The second one was a little lock down (I don't know why) and we when to like hide in the class, and bruh, some kid where just whisper. I was sitting next to my friend and one of my other friend was next to me under a table and he was laying down with his backpack (this was at the end of the day) But nothing happened so we could leave. (This happened in March 2020, I Don't remember what day) That school year was the most weird/scary/surprising of my life 2019-2020 (corona came)

I was in the washroom during a drill. Nobody told me it was a drill. I asked the teacher if I could use the washroom and she said go ahead. I was in the middle of dropping a log when I heard the announcement “This is a school lockdown. I repeat, This is a school lockdown.” and I tried to run out and to the closest classroom but the doors were already all shut. So I just ran back to the washroom and locked the stall door. The stalls at that school were their own little rooms with actual doors, but the locks were very flimsy so I had to hold the lock. All of a sudden there was a violent jiggle at the handle. I was extremely scared and shaking at that point. Then I heard the principal say it’s locked to someone and they walked away.

I still hear the screaming on the intercom... myself was the only one who realized that the screams weren't only the kids... This one time, I was eating lunch with my friends. We sat in the middle of the quad (tiny courtyard) on the ground, since we were 6th graders and too afraid to ask the older kids if we could sit with them at the tables. A sharp, shrill alarm suddenly started going off very loudly, and everyone started running. We had no idea what was going on, since we had never had a drill, so we just followed. Lots of other 6th graders were standing in the halls crying. I followed a high schooler into a stranger classroom, and sat in the dark corner with her. I noticed that everyone was carrying their lunches. They were trying to make the school seem empty. I started crying, thinking that because I didn’t pick mine up that we would get caught by who knows what. I heard running and screaming outside, and got really scared. Then there was an announcement saying “False alarm. Please proceed with your day”. It turns out that a kid was being a punk and just pulled the lockdown alarm. The kids screaming were just grinding a classroom and being jerks about it. A couple of my friends were in the locker room, where there was no speaker, so they stayed there for hours. There isn’t any service in there, so they couldn’t find out until someone knocked on the door. They were totally freaking out, but they eventually opened it and were free. Now there is a ton of graffiti on the walls saying things like “tell my mom I love her” and dark stuff like that. Now it’s just a reminder of the dark world we live in.

Man all this hits way harder now that I’ve actually been through a real school lockdown. A non student was apparently seen entering my school with a gun, so it went on lockdown. One of the scariest experiences I’ve ever had, heard footsteps upstairs, yelling in the halls. The cops came and searched the building, found no one. They also searched the premises outside and questioned non students, still nothing. I don’t think I was in any real danger, it was likely fabricated. The yelling in the halls was another teacher, footsteps were probably the cops. Despite this, it was one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever had, sitting in that room, hearing noises outside, not knowing what was happening. I truly thought I was gonna die. I hope I never have to feel that absolute terror again.

This happened when I was in primary , year 6 to be exact and there was a lockdown. Everyone in our class just thought it was a drill because its what it usually was. So we followed the rules got into the corner and stayed quiet, (instead of a voice going over the system like most school's, the school does the one of shrek song, ) our teacher got a call over the school phone, but it was quiet because it was lockdown and the phones were programmed to do that. And our teacher went and answered. And when the other side of the phone hung up(like it was supposed to do. My teacher looked horrified, that scared the entire class. We all huddled alot more firmly now and about 20 minutes later the song stops meaning we could resume class But that's not where this stops, it had only been 45 to 50 minutes. If it was a drill, it has to go for an entire 60 minutes one of the trouble makers pointed that out. Right after that happen, at the door was a person banging at the door. He left after 23 minutes. Turns out there was a person who came into the school armed with a variety of guns and had broken into the office and stopped the lockdown song so he could go around the school unknown. Smart ass

When I was in 3rd grade, our school went on lockdown because some girl's crazy father threatened to shoot up the school if he didn't get his daughter, and I didn't hear or see much of what happened, but we were on lockdown for around an hour, the kid was taken away from her family and put into foster care for obvious reasons. Another time, when I was in high school, we had a 20-40 minute lockdown because three kids came up to our school with guns, threatening to shoot up the school and, luckily, no one was severely hurt because their aim was as bad as a stormtrooper's and they were arrested.

When I was in second grade, there was some news that in our school area somebody had threatened to place a bomb. It was the middle of the day and suddenly all our teachers are evacuating us from the classrooms, telling us to pack our bags and lunch bags ( this happened before lunchtime). The teachers didn’t mention anything. I learned about the bomb placement from one of my classmates as we were being evacuated. The good thing was, there was no bomb. We had a half day that day and as a second grader, I was happy. But only now I remember the incident and realised how scary it must’ve been for all the staff working there and all the other children..

About 10 years ago in 7th grade, I was chilling on class waiting for the bell to ring for everyone to go to the buses when we went on lockdown. Ended up staying at school like a hour after dismissal because someone was shooting up a small apartment that was literally right around the corner from both my school and a elementary school. I don't remember if anyone got killed or not but I was freaked out about it

I have a couple stories, actually. When I was in second grade, there was some kind of violent crime-I don’t remember exactly what, but the perpetrator had a gun-at a McDonalds that was a little too close to my school for comfort, so we had a lockdown (mostly to keep the perpetrator(s) from running into the school to escape the police, but also for other obvious safety reasons). Being second-graders, we didn’t really understand the potential danger-it kind of just felt like a game of sardines or something. We had a good teacher. She knew how to get a bunch of 7-8 year olds to be quiet and hide in the corner without alarming us much. Looking back, though, it’s unsettling. In sixth grade, I was at a different school. It didn’t have air conditioning, so occasionally kids would pass out in the hotter months. But this one time in may or June, one of the eighth graders passed out, and he had to go to the hospital on a stretcher. I think our principal must’ve panicked, because she decided to call a lockdown. It was just to clear the hallways, but she didn’t tell us that. So at first my whole class was asking our teacher if it was a drill, but she didn’t know either. So we all crouched against a wall and prepared for the worst. The girl next to me had one of those Fitbit heart monitor thingies on her wrist, and she held it up to show me. It read 152 bpm. Eventually though the principal got back onto the intercom to call an end to the lockdown, leaving all of us pretty confused about what happened. I had nightmares for a little while after that.
