The problem is the pavement (sidewalk) is controlled by Westminster Council. The jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defence exists only within the gates. So you can't stop people congregating on the pavement; it's a public right of way. But I think a sharp poke with the pointy end might discourage people from holding onto the reins.

Even as one who does not know much about horses, if the animal repeatedly notches one away, I consider it a message to keep a distance. Even if it allows it to someone else before and yes the person in the saddle decides at all times. Nobody is allowed to pose like cowbody. Adorable how some horses are so lenient with children, if only stupid adults would not push the kids next to the horse as near as possible, even if the little ones clearly don’t want to! I had better idea. If its possible to make them that way, where doesn't shock horse or guard. Electrify part of the reins. Not close to mouth are, but general area where they grab for the most. Wouldn't even have to go full reins length. Then have small button in part guard holds, that he can press to zap these idiots. I was thinking have extra shorter leather piece set up like that on both sides. I grew up on an 80 acre farm, mostly fruit and vegetable, but we had pigs, a milk cow and steer, and a pony and a horse. The electric fence was more for the steer and pigs. Cows are pretty docile usually anyways, ponies and horses, same. But pigs and steers, well, mind of their own. And pigs can be very stubborn. We also had chickens, ducks, geese, and pigeons. The pigeons had a coop on top of one of the other buildings. Chickens, ducks and geese, usually just went in the barn at night, and bad weather in winter. We had 2 ponds further back, mainly for irrigation, but spring and summer, the geese were put back there on them. They were also natural weed control for the vegetables and ground fruit like strawberries. We got out of the habit of putting them back there, as one year they ended up all getting killed by feral dogs. Not all at once, took 2-3 times. We tried keeping them by the barn, but they would stay put. Last chickens and ducks we had. Batman chickens, which are small breed. We had 30 of them, don't remember how many ducks. Anyways, one early spring, feral dogs got in the barn and killed all but one chicken. Think they may have got a duck. The 7 geese we had, they all survived. Thinking they was outside somewhere at the time. Plus not too many animals going to mess with a big goose. My mother had to shoot 2 of the feral dogs, as they were going to attack when she went to see what ,was going on. We had 2 outside, and 1 inside DOS that were going crazy at the time barking. So, what I'm getting at mostly, if we went to another country, we would be expected to follow their rules and laws, so they should as well. Not expect special treatment because their diplomats. Sorry for the long story.

Thank you for this video!! Who did any commentator say, that these tourists’ read that lonely, white on black sign! All these tourists’ think it’s a laugh to have the opportunity to touch those reins, and the the horse, even if like this horse seems to not want people so close. It’s had enough!! I want to go back to my stable!! Is it time yet? As I have mentioned in previous comments, all these tourists’ watch and do what other tourists’ are doing, to even go as close as they can to the horse, even to grab the rein or any part of the bridle parts, thinking they could control the horse’s head movement….Every single one of these tourists’ are getting too close to the horses,’ that one day, someone is going to get injured.

Thats the cutest horse. And smart with it nudging tourists out of his personal space.😊

@@radolfkalis4041 see Jill Davies’ pinned comment below. Markings inside the gate are in MOD territory and only enforced for inspections and other ceremonies, and when horses are walking from the stables to their sentry boxes. Reading has become too hard for many people. That's what I think.
its so funny when someone walks up and looks the horse in the face like they never seen one before...lol
People treat this like a circus they forget there real soldiers doing there duty.😮
That man in the grey t-shirt who grabbed the reins walked straight in front of the man carrying the little boy who were obviously trying to get a photo! They don't give two 💩 about anyone except themselves 😡 wish the horse had bitten him we live in a me me me society..
Instead of horse brasses, the reins should be decorated with barbed wire or razor blades! But I guess some would even try grabbing them then. 😂
I signed autographs for everyone))) beautiful creation🐎
Shame on that Guard. Presume he's asleep.
I agree, I get nervous and upset just watching. The horses are not there to play with!
Every time I watch these videos, it's like people have never seen a horse.
Don’t act like you know the horse….and the horse knows you! Keep your distance…
It's like they've never seen a horse before
Tourists think the horse is mooching their arm or hand and they can offer the horse their face to smooch
Surprised the guard hasn’t yelled at all
The on going saga of the rein grabbers 🤔
They need to get back to shouting
As a family we were talking on Saturday about how lawless and rude people all over the world are becoming. Watching these idiots reaching for the reins well THEY ARE IDIOTS. You could put that sign in every language in the world and there would still be idiots who would reach for the reins. On a positive note that horse definitely has a sense of humor.

oh, shut up karen
I like it when the horses get nippy.
Oohh my Lord...so sad so disturbing..this guard to nice Those tourist walk all over him...What shame...
everyone mentions Global Warming but no one seems to mention the rise of Global Stupidity/ignorrance !
The guards need to shout at the tourists more. "DON"T TOUCH THE REINS".
This guard seems to care less if someone is pulling on the reins...
A free bite with every picture. Lol 😂
People just don’t seem to process the horses may kick or bite…
Dear God.... tourist yelps "ouch it bit me" then tries to move closer in😅
This video should be an education reference on "Stupidity comes in different shape and sizes"
That rein grabber in the grey the shirt was just so bloody rude, he just barged his way in regardless and took hold of the reins for his own pictures. There was another gentlemen there with a child and he just stood in front of him. So rude!!!!
No need to touch the horses, the horse has more sense than most tourist
I'm loving this horse lol. Can't keep its tongue in its mouth and is trying to bite everyone who gets too close to it. Rider just sits and watches as the horse does the work,😂
Why do they need to touch the horse!? Leave the bl👀dy horse alone 🤬🤬
The rider never should have tolerated the man grabbi g the bridle and directing the horse's head, and then taking control of the reins.

this guard was a pure coward. acted tough when he kicked a little girl but was to afraid to say anything to grown men.
Cavaleiros e cavalos demonstram paciência espetacular.
Pretty disappointed the guard isn't paying better attention, to many of those touching the reins r able to for far too long.
07:04 I wonder how many of you cought that little kick the guard gave to the woman, while telling her to "get off!" the reins.
It makes me laugh when , the horse sticks out his tongue .It is almost like , the jokes on all of you taking my picture. lol
Don't 99 per cent of the people know the the horses are better looking and smarter than the adults.
My great respect for Officers Royal Guardia's. This is a very hard job . God save the king . 🇵🇱❤️🇬🇧 . I love tradition & democratic .
A pictogram would explain to all nationalities!
