This has been helpful. I’ve had nimittas but wasn’t sure what was happening, or what was supposed to to happen next. And yes I was excited and it was just a state of pleasure. Just gave good feelings a place I wanted to stay. Then it disappeared as I acknowledged those feelings.

I would love to hear Ajahn Brahm talk about Kriyas sometime. This is a sensational talk. I absolutely loved it. It’s like privileged information.

I experienced this during meditation and searched the subject only because I felt unsure if this was really what I experienced and now I feel sure that it was. Thanks for a good description😊

Ajahn Brahm talked about a rough looking Bikey with tattoos who turned up to the retreat. He seemed like a most unlikely man to want to meditate. Yet this man had a Jhana during this retreat. My thought is this man learned how to meditate whilst he was in jail. Because Monks and Nuns go to the Prisons to teach the prisoners how to meditate. My guess is this bikey dude was a beautiful success story. He probably learned it in jail, and continued the practice once he was released from prison, eventually leading to Jhana.

These descriptions of nimittas sounds something like Sangrakshita's descriptions of samapatthi. What he says about the mind, stillness and energy backs up what was taught in the "Spiritual Reality" video that was viral several years ago.
