The Rare Beauty setting powder is amazing! Hopefully most of the world has moved on from baking, because using this powder how it is instructed leaves your skin looking so smooth! Highly recommend giving it a go!

I've been looking for a new setting powder, and I've heard good things about this one. How do you prefer applying it? Do you use a brush or a sponge, or a powder puff?

@@chrisbecker4412 I would recommend tapping a little into the cap and use a fluffy powder brush on your t-zone or wherever you get excess oil. If you want to set under your eyes, I would go for a fluffy blending brush and tap lightly. Because this powder is finely milled a little goes a long way, so tap your brush to remove any excess powder before applying to your base. Not sure if you follow Robert Welsh, but he is an amazing MUA from London and has several "tips and tricks" content specifically on powder application. I've learned so much from following him over the years, so check out his channel if you haven't already!💜🖤 I hope this helps! You are going to love this powder!😊

For that e.l.f. powder foundation, I would recommend using the e.l.f. complexion duo brush and ditching the round sponge thing that comes with it. I find that the brush is much easier to control as opposed to the applictor that it comes with. I promise, the brush will work WONDERS!! Using this brush with the foundation will make your skin appear super smooth and gives a really nice soft matte finish. I would also DEFINITELY recommend setting the foundation with a setting spray, because that really makes a huge difference with this foundation! (Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, not claiming to be an expert or anything lol)

I actually like the powder foundation more than the liquid foundation on your skin! Maybe it’s only me or maybe it’s the cameras 🤷🏻‍♀️. I personally love powder foundation because I have combination skin. You must choose wisely though. If you aren’t convinced and have combo skin apply the liquid one on the drier areas and the powder foundation on the oily ones. I love doing it that way! Also I use a setting spray that is not matte and voilà!

I have drier skin and still love powder foundation. I apply mine with a densely packed brush which I think is better than a sponge. Then I set it with a hydrating setting spray and, if I do it right, you really can’t tell I’m even wearing anything.

Yes! If you set with setting spray, especially if it’s a glowy one, it will look skin-like. She should have set it.

Try using a brush for foundation then go over with a sponge. I love this method and my skin always looks flawless!

agreed, that NYX brow product would be so much better with a smaller brush!

Use the Camo powder foundation with a foundation brush and push it on. Then use a spray to mesh it in. It’s actually really beautiful on, when you use it like that.

I know you didn’t like the finish but on camera the powder foundation looked great on you . Just looked you had natural amazing skin . Of course matte foundations often look better in camera than real life so i understand not likening it

Try the Camo Powder with a wet/damp sponge. It's still dries powdery (well, it is a powder), but it's has much more coverage, AND it's still a powder in the pan, once it dries. It doesn't get that crust on it like using a wet eyeshadow does.

I've tried the rare beauty mascara and setting powder and they're both great! My eyelashes hate to curl but they keep a curl with this mascara, and my skin is pretty dry so I only use the setting powder on places like my nose and I definitely have to use a powder brush and setting spray afterwards but it makes my skin look so much better, definitely recommend trying at least the mini's

I think you should try Charlotte Tilbury foundation with a brush . A buffer brush

Powder foundations should be stippled on with a brush. Using a sponge makes it look cakey.

Well i gotta say about the dewy CT foundation. Its got a lot of bad reviews from folks however if your looking for lighter coverage( want freckles to show, a no makeup look, ect) and have DRY to combo skin- it rly works wonders and lasts all day without a primer. Blending with fingers or a kabuki brush work best for me. For me it was a game changer- for those trying- a little rly goes a long way! 😅

these videos are so great and very helpful, unfortunately on your particular skin type i don't think any of these foundations look very good. i think the camo powder from elf was the least textured i'd ever seen your skin and i definitely don't think you need full coverage at all because your skin is lovely.
