I think you did an outstanding job in six hours! I clean homes. I don't like to take breaks to eat either. You had an exhausting job to do without renourishing yourself. I can only imagine how tired you were at the end. I certainly hope the landlord addresses some of the additional problems! 😮

Unfortunately I can’t clean more than 1 greasy kitchen or room with full of stuff:( for that I need days, but I’m a stay at home mom yet. So I definitely have to finish what I started. Sometimes I think “oohhh it’s easy to clean “ and I realize I spent 4 hours already. So I try to not wasting my time with food 🥴 and the landlord definitely has to do something

Wanted to share with you, Barbie, that those numbers/symbols/words around the control knobs on old stoves do not last! We have had several old stoves and, when the features faded and disappeared, had to make adaptations in order to know what we were doing with the knobs! We used dense white nail polish on one, to mark and abbreviate the places; we made a diagram and taped into the inside door of the cabinet closest to the stove for reference; we made a tiny "fan" of sorts from paper plates cut down small and wrapped these around the spindle the knob rests on; and we taped an old picture of the console from a manual to the wall above the stove to see what to do while cooking! When the knobs are in front of the stove and curved around on top of the oven door, the natural happenings debride the control markings surface all of the time. Pressure, heat, oil, drippings, cleaners, scraping (intentional or accidental), and years of use all conspire to take the markings away, eventually. It is not your fault when this happens- my best suggestion is to diagram the settings BEFORE the markings are completely gone or consult the owners manual for a picture! If you don't have time and the markings are already gone, go online to view the same or a similar model of stove and download the console features. From someone who has been through this multiple times!

You should use paper towels and save your cloths for later stages. Great job sunshine. You are a star.

Hi Barbie. Another amazing job. What commitment you have. You need Mack’s 50/10 strategy. Work for 50 mins, rest for 10. I have been using that and it really does help you keep motivated mentally and physically. And eat! Being hungry and thirsty is bad bad bad! Mom here 🥰.

We can all sit in judgememt and say the landlord should kick this person out or poor tenant but no one knows this persons story and should not be quick to judge.putting them out on the street would be just one more person our society has tossed away..Barbie you are an angel for doing what you do. Cleaning videos teaching us a lot

And my son was in school he and I did rent houses after the people moved out and before the next renter. The man who own the houses wanted them to look as though they had not been lived in. They were so beautiful when we would get through we would even repaint areas. We have repainted porches window seals everything. Even porches. If there was furniture that went with the house when we got through with it they looked brand new. Once we had to redo a beautiful desk and that we messed up on two or three times before we got it right. I loved that work it was so rewarding and fun when my son was working with me

Barbie, about the gloves. People are so critical for no reason. The gloves for cleaning are to protect your hands from harsh chemicals. The same chemicals that kill a bazillion germs. Plus, look at the house! Really! Germs cross contaminating? It doesn't make a bit of sense. Your hands are constantly in bleach cleaner or hot hot hot soapy water and degreaser. No one is eating off the cabinets except cockroaches. Love the 🎶 music. Great video. Sending love vibes from Virginia. Rock on!

^ This, how many people clean their own bathrooms with bare hands, then wash their hands and go and prepare food for their family in their kitchens. Gloves can be washed with antibacterial soap and also put through the washing machine - no different than washing your hands, take it from an ex microbiologist and RN :) you are doing a fantastic job!

I can surely understand why you wanted to cry during this one. I was crying with you! I know that was so hard, but you did a really amazing job! Especially considering the age of the place and how dirty it was. It hurts my heart knowing people have to live this way, whether it is due to financial hardship or crappy landlords who refuse to make necessary repairs and replacements. It makes me so angry and exasperated when they won't fix things! You are truly amazing and honestly, your size would be considered an advantage in a lot of ways. I'm quite a bit older and heavier than you and I have arthritic joints, so there's no way I could squat for as long as you do when you are cleaning. To be honest, I almost can't get up at all or need help when I squat. I can only imagine how tired and achy your body must have felt after this job. God bless you, sweet lady! You really are amazing!

Barbie, you did just fine. When a place has never been cleaned, you have to imagine how many layers of dirt and crud are on that.

I am so glad you spoke up to the landlord about the state of the counter and oven. Also, you don't have to use plastic wrap. You can use extra plastic grocery shopping sacks cut in half, or dollar tree garbage bags cut in half.

Barbie, you are so amazing but I worry about you not looking after yourself. PLEASE take time to eat in future, nothing is worth compromising your health for. With the heavy duty physical work you do you MUST fuel and hydrate your body. Your dedication and hard work is astonishing and you are so loved and admired by so many of us, we feel protective of you. PLEASE, PLEASE look after yourself lovely lady❤

They sell trisodium phosphate at home depot- you would throw some of the granules on that greasy floor and pour on boiling water from a kettle. Works really well, even on fabrics. Have to wear gloves as it dries out your skin. Its also great for removing burned on grease on pots & pans. Good for deep clean in dishwasher & washing machine. Just needs to pair with very hot water. Love your cleaning Barbie

Instead of plastic wrap you can use plastic bags to put over the degreaser on the oven. It saves your strength to clean other stuff :) stray and cover when you first get there and then finish the drive after it’s soaked under the plastic and not dried out

It is perfect job!!!

Another great cleaning. I had to clean a similar fan once-yak-I put a pot of water on to boil for a while to release the grease-much easier. I also discovered Spray Nine and Krud Kutter-the best cleaner I have found so far-it got off 30 year old black tar from a porcelain sink. Sometimes I carry around the boiling kettle for the worse grease/stains. I have those drill brushes-awesome!! They even come with a scouring pad/brush!!

Seen a lot of dirty kitchen, think this is worst. Great job!
