Thank you so much. I’m doing my last semester for my MSW program and really want to consider medical sw but I realized I didn’t have much knowledge on it. So, I’ll be watching all of your videos🙂

I’m currently going for my MSW and would LOVE to become a medical social worker or a school social worker. I am physically disabled and do have a service dog (he’s for mobility)

Hi Tabi it’s Kami 😊as per our conversation in email I thought of another subject I would love to learn more about: What was interning like (or field instruction) and do you recommend students interning at the hospital where they want to work? If it’s not ideal or there is no opportunity to do that is there a specific hospital or agency that allows for training students more so than others. Also, was interning and field instruction a lot like the job description of a medical sw? I’d love to learn more in depth about some of the most common problems you face when discharging a patient. I get the feeling that the social worker carries a lot of the burden. For example are you blamed for not being able to find any nursing facility that’s accepting patients. Do you get in trouble or condemned for things beyond your control? I’m guessing this is part of the boundary settings you mentioned?
