9,801kg Bell ringing

During the Second World War, the Czech Republic saw a total of 9801 bells destroyed by the regime. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the last bell taken and destroyed, a European peace bell was created, weighing exactly 9801kg.

    Look at the artistry on the outside, its beautiful! Are these all taken from pieces of old or damaged bells? Where is this beautiful bell destined for?

  • @Grassmayr

    @Grassmayr

    2 жыл бұрын

    That’s actually a great question! So no the entire bell was casted entirely from scratch in order to ensure the quality and sound if the bell. The pieces that you can see in the bell are actually taken from historical documents of magnificent destroyed bells. This bell is representing the lost beauty of music that was destroyed in the second world war. The bell is right now being driven towards Prague, where it will be placed on the river, right next to the Charles bridge, where it will last for centuries to come. Cheers, Gabriel
