Ya know. This is reminding me of that accident in New Jersey. Same thing. Women driving the wrong way on the highway drunk. Caused a wreck. People died. Including some of her own kids who were in the van with her. Only survivor was her son. And the husband was so in denial of being told “Your was drunk and she’s the cause of the accident” “Nope. She doesn’t drink. I would know. I’m married to her. I want another autopsy done to prove she wasn’t drunk and clear her name.” And than later the scumbag sued the families of the people in the other vehicle who died.

Honestly, the mental gymnastics some people-and lawyers-do to absolve themselves of responsibility is somewhere between astounding and appalling. Where I am, a DUI driver convicted of vehicular manslaughter had a lawyer who argued that his client shouldn’t be blamed because the shoe they wore interfered with the gas pedal. The lawyer also caused some outrage in the cycling community when he tried to shift blame onto the dead cyclist by “theorizing” that he was cycling at full speed just before the collision and using the THC in his blood to call him a pothead.

@@yujinyi6099 I swear some people are just pure scum. Btw the incident I mentioned has a documentary on it. There’s Something Wrong with Aunt Diane is the title (I might’ve gotten the title wrong slightly). It can be seen on Max. You can see how the husband was so in denial that his wife was drunk. Seriously he was told the results of a toxicology report showing she was drunk and he denied it. Demanded another one and he would pay for it himself. He gathered enough money to do it. And when given the same results he still denied it. Acting like it’s wrong. His sister backed him at first but after hearing the second time she started to change and see her sister-in-law was indeed drunk. And the excuses he gave to reporters after hearing the first report. He claimed she had bottled water and reached for it and “accidentally” grabbed the liquor bottle and drank it. Like seriously you can tell the difference between a water bottle and a liquor bottle and also the difference in taste. The mental gymnastics he did. His young son was the only survivor and instead of trying to get strong and raise his son alone he acted like “Well I guess I have to take care of him by myself” instead of “I gotta be strong for my son now. I’m all he has and he’s all I have.”
