What's the deal with the Mom?
That poor kid his mother is drunk driving like that and not listening to anyone.
I love how shes like i can survive the last hour and when shes timed her contractions to 5 minutes long and Sue teases her going "you think you've got another hour in ya?" she wiggles her hand like "maybe" lol also just Josh's face when her contraction hits before the elevator doors shut hes so panicked!
This drunk driver almost caused Chimney to lose Albert 😢
The drunk driver unintentionally killed three people and was convicted of three counts of vehicular manslaughter
That mom is why I live with my dad.
Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈 Jim and Maddie from 9-1-1 tv 📺 on your baby girl 👧
Ya know. This is reminding me of that accident in New Jersey. Same thing. Women driving the wrong way on the highway drunk. Caused a wreck. People died. Including some of her own kids who were in the van with her. Only survivor was her son. And the husband was so in denial of being told “Your was drunk and she’s the cause of the accident” “Nope. She doesn’t drink. I would know. I’m married to her. I want another autopsy done to prove she wasn’t drunk and clear her name.” And than later the scumbag sued the families of the people in the other vehicle who died.

Honestly, the mental gymnastics some people-and lawyers-do to absolve themselves of responsibility is somewhere between astounding and appalling. Where I am, a DUI driver convicted of vehicular manslaughter had a lawyer who argued that his client shouldn’t be blamed because the shoe they wore interfered with the gas pedal. The lawyer also caused some outrage in the cycling community when he tried to shift blame onto the dead cyclist by “theorizing” that he was cycling at full speed just before the collision and using the THC in his blood to call him a pothead.

@@yujinyi6099 I swear some people are just pure scum. Btw the incident I mentioned has a documentary on it. There’s Something Wrong with Aunt Diane is the title (I might’ve gotten the title wrong slightly). It can be seen on Max. You can see how the husband was so in denial that his wife was drunk. Seriously he was told the results of a toxicology report showing she was drunk and he denied it. Demanded another one and he would pay for it himself. He gathered enough money to do it. And when given the same results he still denied it. Acting like it’s wrong. His sister backed him at first but after hearing the second time she started to change and see her sister-in-law was indeed drunk. And the excuses he gave to reporters after hearing the first report. He claimed she had bottled water and reached for it and “accidentally” grabbed the liquor bottle and drank it. Like seriously you can tell the difference between a water bottle and a liquor bottle and also the difference in taste. The mental gymnastics he did. His young son was the only survivor and instead of trying to get strong and raise his son alone he acted like “Well I guess I have to take care of him by myself” instead of “I gotta be strong for my son now. I’m all he has and he’s all I have.”

they have said that all the calls taken on the show are based on real incidents/911 calls, so it's entirely possible this was based on that NJ incident.

Kudos to the stunt drivers during this scene. Well done on the kids part as well. I felt his desperation.

After a call like this one, I think anyone's headspace would need a moment to catch up. Also, with a call like this being done, this was exactly what 118 and Athena needed to hear - their family was about to get a little bigger.
I lover her little "eh, maybe" hand gesture when she asks her if she thinks she can still last an hour. At this point they're gonna have to put the baby on the payroll.

I just did a check and she was pregnant in real life all those times her character was. I don't know of anyone else who's been pregnant and it became part of the storyline that many times. Have come a long way from having to say expecting rather than pregnant.

Going into labor is a term that means the body has started the process to give birth.
Not once did they show that child touching his mother during the drive. I'm not saying it would've definitely made a difference but a shake couldve snapped her out of it a little. Its unrealistic for the kid to make zero contact woth the mom like that.

With how many cars speed for no reason these days? People would literally run out of space before they could stop. Also, the first drivers to hit likely had NO time to even process what was happening or move their foot to the brakes.
