The only game where all who are playing are prepared to sacrifice everything for all who are watching.

The pregame coverage of this game is always some of the most moving television of the year. I am neutral because I have connections to both services. My father joined the Army, was transferred to the Air Force when it became a separate service, and was discharged from the Army. My stepfather was a Navy pharmacist's mate who saw combat in the Pacific with a USMC division.

My Dad enlisted in the US Army at 17 (with permission from his parents) in 1944-1945 while WWII was still ongoing. My timeline is not great, but he went to artillery training at Fort Bliss, TX and was shipped to the Philippines at the very end of the war. He was stationed in a small village outside of Manilla (which today is a part of Manilla). He did his time, the war ended, and eventually he made his way back to the US where he was honorably discharged. He saw San Francisco and some of the Bay Area (e.g., an Army air field that eventually became Travis Air Force Field that is an hour outside of SF) and eventually left his hometown of Chicago, IL (with his wife who he had met at the Univ of Illinois) to resettle in Palo Alto, CA. I think my Dad took pride in his limited time in the Army, and growing up we watched the Army Navy game most every year. I lost my Dad in 2009, but root for Army to honor and remember him. GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY!

I wholeheartedly thank your dad for serving in the military (army) and helped defend/liberate my country The Philippines. Without these brave men, I would'nt be here or I might've been speaking Japanese fulltime. The US is our greatest ally and friend and that should be a forever pact

No wonder they raised some of the best among us, the parents are great Americans themselves.. All of us parents should be inspired by their parenting skills, and kudos to these amazing institutions for providing them with the best education in our beautiful America! ❤

Nothing beats the Army-Navy rivalry in college football. It’s a rivalry built on respect and the fact that on one day they are enemies but after they graduate they will work together on the same team to keep us and the country safe.
