I bought the Famicom version of this keyboard. I grew up with the NES, but I just thought the Famicom version looked a lot nicer. It feels amazing to type on. Coming off a keyboard with the excellent Cherry MX Red switches, I find that I significantly prefer the Kailh switches in this 8BitDo keyboard. They're clicky but not obnoxiously so, and typing is smooth while still providing satisfying feedback. It all makes for a very balanced typing experience.

I really wanted to buy the mouse for use with my retro pi but wanted a keyboard that would match. For stuff like dos and old pc games. I also have the n30 pro controllers in the NES style. I want a whole theme. I have been looking at cases that look like an NES too, but haven't gotten one yet? Can't imagine i would have much use for the two button thing, but it's cool too I guess.

I already liked what I saw from this after seeing Lon Seidman's review previously. That sure looks tempting. I like both the NES and Famicom designs, though I prefer the look of the Famicom design a bit more. My first 8bitdo controller was their Famicom-style FC30 from 2015(how time flies). I also love some of the quirky touches they did here. I'm not sure what I'd do with those big buttons, maybe just program them as A & B for comedic value until I'd come up with something better, but the idea of having four sets of them with no real purpose amuses me. But it looks like another good effort from 8bitdo. Incidentally, I recently picked up two of 8bitdo's Ultimate C wired pads and two of their Neo Geo CD pads, and they've all been excellent so far.

is the big button device durable enough and have a long enough cable for it to be used on the floor by your feet?

doesn't look like it from the video. Missed opportunity for sure, that was my instant reaction as well. If the buttons use a 3.5mm jack connection maybe an extension cable would work.

Does it work with the Steam Deck? I was looking for a less than full size keyboard to travel with my Deck (when I didn't want to use a fold up mini keyboard). I assume it would since it's a keyboard but they only mention compatibility with Windows and Android...

It's a shame that this doesn't have backlit.
