I also give a TON of detail on how I built it and the mods to it - Exhaust, Seat, Lights, And the Bob its self, along with other stuff!! In the end I get it going and take it for a ride! Thanks for watching!

So impressed with how you casually talk about modifying and building parts.

Tell me your bike has been sitting a while without telling me (shows a metal scrap pile blocking it in). LOL. Cool switchback lights. Almost bike riding weather. Stay safe out there and keep the rubber down.

Lol yeah it was buried. I got in a few rides the other day, but it's getting cold again today and tomorrow. Supposed to be nice this coming weekend, but I will be out of town. Oh well spring will be here soon enough!

Thanks for sharing your story. I also have an 88 xv1100. I suspect i have a rusty reserve fuel tank. Your copper coil piping gives me ideas. Did you have to cap off the vent line (beside the main fuel line) under the main tank? And did you need to lightly flare the ends of the copper pipe to prevent leaks?

For the vent I just capped it since there is no reserve tank to vent anymore. On the copper line, I did give the ends the slightest amount of flare, but since there is no pressure on this side of the lines, it was more for my own piece of mind. Thanks for watching!

@@EvanWells07 aahh, i get it. Fuel at the copper tube is being pulled rather than pressured. Thanks!

@samng3958 yep, no pressure. I still put a little tiny bit of a bump in the line just in case vibration or something would move it.

How did you fasten your seat down?

  • @EvanWells07

The front of the seat (hinge) bolts to the gas tank mount. The rear is on the springs.

So basically I’m fucked ahha if I don’t weld, the back fender is gonna be a bitch! The rest looks fairly simple

Lol you will need to do some welding if you want it all clean looking, but there are plenty out there that just chop it all up and leave it. Maybe a good time to get a welder and start practicing! The rest is fairly straight forward stuff. Nothing too crazy.
