Casey, I see you're always leaving the theater during the credits and as an editor and a composer I have a recommendation for you: Sit through the credits. Why? If you truly wanna appreciate the movies effects on you, you want to focus and have those few minutes for yourself to think about what you just saw. No talking, no checking your phone, no thinking about what to eat afterwards. Sometimes you really get to a next level of understanding and feeling the movie. It's also a kind of nice gesture for the filmmakers (even tho they're not there, I know) and also most movies are intended to have that same feeling until the end so that you can freely think and feel whatever it was the movie made you think and feel. You can also appreciate the great music playing during the credits, doesn't matter if it's the score or some other music. This really is a good advice, I recommend it for everyone. Getting up and talking the second the credits begin kinda ruins the experience for other people. It's also comparable to something you see at concerts: People leave halfway through the encore so that they are the first ones to get out of the parking zone. I see their point but seriously, if you wanted to see that concert, if you wanted to experience that movie, you even came there just to see it and you paid for it, make sure to stay until the end and take everything you can from it.

Here in Atlanta we have an event that happens several times a year usually Spring, Summer, Fall called Streets Alive. The city closes off entire sections and encourages people to come out and walk, run, bike, stoll visit with local restaurants, shops and pop-up shops/artists and just enjoy the day. Atlanta is slowly becoming a more metro city where people are moving back into the city from the burbs because the traffic getting to and from the burbs is redonkculous. It's worst than the BQE or NYST into Manhattan. I have lived in the city of Atlanta since I moved here from the West Village in NYC in the late 80's when it was pretty much a ghost town after work hours and weekends. It's come a long way but still nothing better than the big apple.

Your outlook on "things" resonates with me very much. My biggest regret right now is that I have too many things. And I keep telling myself that I'm going to sell off a bunch of these things. But I keep putting it off. At any given time I have 5 listings on craigslist. But you nailed it...we only need so many things. I've never been one for fancy things or expensive things. Most of my things are superfluous tools of my trades. The hardest thing about moving on to new careers or new tools is getting rid of the old ones. Indeed, it's hard to let go. But clearly, at this point, adding to the pile is THE LAST thing I want to do. I only wish that I could go back in time and prevent myself from buying some of the tools I purchased, as I only used them a couple times and some of them take up a LOT of space...... Hindsight is 20/20....
