don't like extended frames 'there's alot of places you would have alot of trouble driving the truck around with a trailer in tight spots

Marlon, Most large trucks use a clutch on the cooling fan. When it reaches a preset temp. hydraulic oil pressure activates it. Note: don't get your hand anywhere near a non-turning fan, if it cuts on good by fingers!

No... Air pressure activates the fan clutch. Pressure keeps it released lack of pressure engages it as determined by the fan clutch solenoid

Isn’t the extended hood the 122” BBC? Sorry it’s been awhile but I’m having a senior moment. I drove a ‘84 359 but it only had the 119BBC. It also had the 3406 B, which was actually painted white originally. Before the Cats were yellow later on. Good Day Everyone!

Don't know much about trucks but a friend of mine had the same type of truck it had the extended frame with a cat engine not sure on the size and it had duel shifters in it does your truck have that? anyway those trucks are awesome I love the front end of those trucks they are nice

Hey it will still do the job, I started in 92 and I drove a Mack Superdog OTR with a sleeper that size. I'm older and just a tad bit wider now (not by much I'm happy to say) so I wouldn't do that now.

As far as I know, Diesel engines work better at higher temperatures: a Diesel engine has no spark plug to ignite the fuel but makes the mixture air/fuel to explode under pressure, the higher the temperature, the better to produce a "wider" expansion that moves up'n down the piston. Of course, there's a limit for the temperature and when starts to rise beyond the limit, an automatic device makes to release the clutch for the fan to start spinning.

That's the whole point ..... To look as long as possible. Besides 48" flattop is way cool and the perks to having a small bunk verses a big stand up is that you never worry if someone's gonna be back there hiding ......lol .
