#85 Storing & Preserving Homegrown Vegetables for Years | Countryside Life
Winter is the season of recovery and preparation.
As the growing season is over, now it’s time for me to store and preserve vegetables we got from summer for winter use.

Her life is a fairytale and the way she lives feels like a dream. A life close to nature is something that I've always wanted. As a person who lives in the city I always dream of the likes of living in a country side. And this is the best way of answering it. Stress free, simple but meaningful. This is what makes life worth living for💚

I hope you have already thought about writing a book on gardening, composting and food preservation. For sure I'll order one 🙂
Unbelievable! You're the goddess of all things! Thank you for all this useful information. I'm so glad I found your account and now I get to watch so much of your content!
I am grown up in Germany in the countryside. My parents still live there. As a kid we used to have two gardens around our property and my granny was a chef cooking for our family and preserving the veggies from our gardens. In the backyard we grew asparagus, strawberrys, raspberrys, one sort of tomatos and one sort of pumpkins. In the frontyard we had all sorts of fruit trees but not in the least the amount you grow in your garden. And we had henns. The fruit trees were cut not a single one left. Where the backyard vegetable patches used to be is now a lawn. There was a concept, why the old generations were growing their own food. In times of war we will starve because our food suply relys on outer sources.
I'm so incredibly thankful for the fact that you just share your knowledge with us without asking money in return... You are a great help and inspiration to us all!

Wow, what an amazing food forest you have in just a couple years! I'm jealous. I did want to mention one safety issue-- any unprocessed jars of vegetable + oil should be stored in the fridge to prevent botulism. Low acid, anaerobic environments create a higher risk.
I simply love watching Alexia helping in the kitchen, children's curiosity shouldn't be underestimated at that age ☺We also use a dehydrator, self-made dried tomatoes are so delicious. ❤🍅 And I can't emphasize enough how amazed I am by the amount of vegetables and fruits you harvested. 🌽🥕🥒

I am just awed at how a person can be so artistic, yet hands on. The videos are always top rated, and the content are so interesting and inspiring. I recall the Normandy episode where the young girl was running towards the castle on the dirt road, the camera shot was too amazing, like a studio gibili scene. Such a talent! thanks for sharing. Thank you for your beautiful vlog 🌽🍅. I tell you a wonderful apple jelly recipe that my 97-year-old friend taught me. Boil the apple skin, core, and whole apple in the same amount of water. Put the boiled apple in a cotton bag and strain it into the juice one drop for about 8 hours. Add 80% granulated sugar to the juice and boil it. It hardens with apple pectin and becomes a jewel-like jelly. Please turn off the heat before it becomes candy. Please try it🍎🍏
Your discipline, patient , dedication to perfect every details from building gardens growing, Prepping storing and cooking absolutely beautiful. Thank you for your videographer / photographs and dedication and time. Teaching through your video shows take me appreciate everything in life and give me to not be living the American lazy style, wanting everything now but appreciate more how the process is made with patience always put dedication into your work because the end result is more than you ever could ask for ☺️👍😍

You can also try my Italian mother's freezing method: parboil the vegetables in a little water. Let cool in the water you cooked them in. Place the vegetables with the water in a bag, preferably using a vacuum food sealer or take all the air out of the bag. Put it in the freezer. The parboiling and then freezing the vegetables in water prevents freezer burn and keeps the vegetables fresh and makes cooking them quick. Nice video as always
Good and meaningful. Thanks for your sharing

Wow~~~~ Beautiful Garden~ Thank you for good sharing. Like it My friend, have a good day
I had to review this video to see if fermentation was covered. Napa cabbage kimchi sweetened with apple brings joy to every meal. Veges preserved in simple salt brine doesn't require cooking--more enzyme and probiotics than canning--it's living food! Apple peel uses: dehydrate for a healthy snack, more nutrition than the flesh; make apple cider vinegar; make natural pectin for your jam; make powder as natural sweetener and thickener. Your videos impart the quiet strength of a well-trained ballerina, poetic and philosophical in every turn : )
Đây thực sự là cuộc sống mà em muốn sống khi về già ❤️❤️🇻🇳

The confluence of colors of the harvest from your garden gives joy and vibrancy to whoever sees it. I appreciate the way how you preserve God's bounty through the work of your hands! During this time when prices of vegetables and fruits have escalated, your video is very helpful and informative. And I learned a new way to remove the corn from its cob.
