1994 rangers with keenan were a blitzkrieg team . I would have loved to see if they could have went back to back

Mike Keenan’s comment that the Flyers won the President’s Trophy in 1985 was not 100% true. The Flyers did have the best regular season record but the President’s Trophy wasn’t introduced as an award until 1986.

That's true. However, I always kind of felt that for awards that are purely stats based (like the Art Ross or Plus/Minus Award), they should retroactively give those awards to past years so those teams can have those banners on their record. I don't think they can do this objectively with subjective awards, even though they have like with the retro-Selke award.

Not a chance. In 1982 the Islanders had a easy time in the final with the Vancouver Canucks. Not exactly a dynasty team or one that was expected to be in the final. The teams Sather built in Edmonton speak for themselves they have a lot more hall of fame players than the islanders. That’s a eye for talent and the innovative development of systems that changed the game.

@@iBOT-R3 And during the Isles 4 Cup run they didn’t even need a game 7. Edmonton couldn’t even make the Finals to go for a 3rd straight. You should’ve added those facts

The '85 Oilers were great but they were not superior to the '77 Canadiens.

I also love the canadian. Original 6 !! With many cups and many great players !! But we can't forget that Edmonton started 79-80 !! There first and second line are all hall of famers that broke all NHL records !!!

@@erickouniakis5722 The Individual records are probably why the 1985 Oilers edged out the NYI & Canadiens teams!

@@danieldengL4R Yes i would have to agree with you on that Daniel. The Canadians and the islands both had great teams then. That was hockey at its best in my opinion. I lived four blocks from the north land's coliseum since 76. I watched the oilers with all those young guys beat the best and brake most of the records. It's only fair to say !! Most teams had three maybe four hall of famers and if you look at Edmonton there first and second line were all hall of famers. Going back to your comment your right on the money Daniel !! It's always nice to hear from someone that knows what they're talking about.
