Ishi's camp at "Grizzly Bear's Hiding Place" was looted of artifacts while he was away. Several complete arrows were part of the cache. This is an example of one type of arrowhead.

I relate to this video so much. I've been learning to knap with antique glass and tools I made from deer antlers. It's frustrating trying to get it thin enough to notch!! The antique bottles and jars I use are pretty thick. I get the shape I want, but it almost always ends up too thick still.

Me, not know anything about nothing, Is the body of a blade going to be slightly higher than the opposing. I know in the modern age, this is not an issue. But in dealing with flakes for point use, as well as glass bottoms, could this be a necessary asymmetric?

The ideal is for the hafting area to be slightly thinner than the body of the blade, regardless of material. The balance of the arrowhead does not appear to be an issue but the wider the base, the more "balanced" the point, as you probably know.

Red usually doesn't change color much. If anything, it might get darker. If I were you, I would try a few flakes first just to be sure, and don't heat the whole thing until you know it will work.
