I am 86 and recently lost my husband of 68 years, I have been lost . I decided to try to learn to paint and have been watching you. I just love how you paint. I am learning so much and now have a reason to get up in the morning. I have so much to learn about paint products and how to make the paint flow off the brush and what liquid is but I am getting better and can smile again sometimes. Thank you Your really cute

I used to teach a local oil painting class & several women joined us who were recently widowed. They expressed the same feelings as what you said. There's something about painting that's soothing to a broken heart. Thank God I haven't experienced losing my husband but my heart goes out to you & I'm soooo glad you found a reason to go on. May God bless you.

Best tutorial I’ve ever watched!!!!
You just transform the whole thing, it's so marvellous watching you, loved this technique, thankyou so much Micheal
Phenomenal work as always! I'm constantly blown away by the level of realism you achieve in your grass, plants, and trees.
I am painting an Australian scene with dry dead grass- your technique has helped me so much and has spurred me on to finish it - Thank you Michael. So Kind to share.
I've watched this same video a few times now and love the way you do the detail in your artwork. truly stunning to watch and listen to you.
Michael, I really look forward to viewing your videos. You are truly a great artist! Thank you for all of your tips and advice.
A joy to watch, as always. Thank you, Michael. I've come along in leaps and bounds with my acrylics watching your tutorials. Lol. I love realism.
I am a new "trying to be an artist" and I am amazed at the realism of your painting. Your painting looks like you could just step into the painting everything looks so realistic. Thank you for sharing your talent and your skills and your tips! You are phenomenal.
Nobody paints like you, Michael James Smith. If they reintroduce the Garden of Eden, I am nominating you to head up the design team. I want o be in this scene with my lady and a picnic hamper. Thank you. God bless you.
thank you for letting us in to your studio and watching you make magic with your brushes and telling us how you do it. I just love watching. it trutly makes my day. thank you so much i'll be watching every day.
Melhor pintor realista que já vi no mundo. Parabéns Michael pelos trabalhos realizados com perfeição.
Michael ....this is miraculous! You have been touched by a higher power....what joy to look at what you do...and learn...and to enjoy what's possible in the human mind ! Had you been born in 1400s ...you would have been idolised !
Oh my goodness. Just wonderful!!! Thank you for sharing your art with us.
Thanks Michael for sharing your wonderful techniques. I'm thinking of moving over from acrylics to oils. Its videos such as yours, that's encouraging and inspiring me to go for it.
Fantastic ! As good as the old masters. Makes me feel like painting again.
Great video & beautiful painting! I really love seeing the close-ups. You're the best. Much appreciation for all you share.
Thank you for patiently explaining your process at the same time while you actually paint. This was very helpful.
I am pretty much self taught until now. I have learned so much from watching you. Thank you so much for making these videos. Perhaps one day you could do a video of your studio and how you have it set up.
Wow, I finally found a master painter! Amazing! Thank you, I've learned a lot.
Wow the end result is amazing. You must have endless patience doing all those layers of grass.
The photo realism of your landscapes is stunning. It's not my preferred style, but I can sure appreciate incredible talent when I see it. Thank ypou for your videos (and, yes, I watch all of them).
I think your paintings are remarkable. I absolutely love your attention to detail and the results are beautiful.
Awesome tutorial Michael, Thank you!
You are so generous with your information Michael. Thank you so much for posting these brilliant videos.
You are a huge inspiration. Just when I was ready to glue grass to the canvas I watched this video again. I'll watch it another ten times before attempting grass again...just to make certain.
I love Michael teaching easy to understand and inspire me .Thank you
I could watch this a hundred times over and still be just as fascinated as the first time. I like the home made brush. And yes, I will be trying that. Thank you sir
About to work on a painting project, and this is really helping. Never thought I’d be as good as I am when I first tried it out. I have only just started this hobby, and I really want to get better at it, and this video helps a lot! Keep up the good work 😄
I have a painting background but have not known the techniques you employ to produce realistic foliage, whether in the distance or foreground. Thank you for your clear instruction and the opportunity to see you beautiful paintings come to life.
You achieve a phenomenal photo realism in your paintings and I am amazed at the amount of detail you put in to them. You paint every leaf and every blade of grass. You are so talented. I love watching you paint but I couldn't ever hope to paint like you. Fantastic, that's all I can say.

It takes more talent to NOT paint every leaf and make it look as he did. I have painted for a long time and trust me , painting the illusion of detail is far more difficult. Look up Donald Jurney....he is the Master of what I describe. And I have seen his work in person and always blown away by the realism of his work with minimal strokes.

Paul, you are comparing apples to oranges. I love Impressionism too but these are two totally different techniques.. Michael is going for photo realism and I’d say he nails it!

You wrote: "You paint every leaf and every blade of grass". Uuhum... How else could/should do that to complete the painting? ;)

@@AndersJohansson many artists don't, thus Paul's comment. But I'm learning how to do it all using Michael's instruction, and then I can choose what to keep and what to imply.
So detail. Thousand thanks to You Michael.
Absolutely love your work Michael.
Thanks again for another great video! This video is great as I am doing a painting with a big river bank. Sure won't look like yours but I know it will be better than if I hadn't seen "how to" in this video. Have learned so much from you...THANKS!! Can't wait for your new website.
Thank for the video, instruction, and your time! So much method to your strokes ... love the breakdown(s).
Thank you so much for your tree and grass videos. I was stuck on the details for my landscape. You helped me so much.
I started to paint again recently, and the more I do, the more I appreciate your marvelous skill... :)
This is what you need to have perseverance and perseverance. I am surprised. Praise the artist.
