Nice little board you have there! I got my Tech and General license on 1st April. As long as I follow the rules and etiquette I'm looking forward to doing various experiments without fear of black helicopters and black SUV's with blacked out windows turning up to my house :-)

good work. I remember the test and got the tech and general, then they say, want to take the advanced? I said I did not study for it. They said why not try. I missed it by one question, ugh....

@@IMSAIGuyThanks! Yeah, they asked me whether I wanted to do Extra and I refused because I really had not studied for it. I also have this crazy thing in my head that I have to ace a test so going in unprepared is not something I'm used to doing. As it happens I already had the radios. I bought a Kenwood TS-2000 about 5 years ago and a Kenwood TS-890 2? years ago. I've listened but I never plugged in a mic to press transmit - that and I didn't have a proper antenna that I could transmit into. I bought two good antennas after I passed the exams and had my first contacts on FT8 towards the end of April. Still haven't plugged in a mic for SSB or learned morse for CW - that's to come. 73, KC1PAN.

There seems to be a lot of radio-centric projects here--from a former HAM person. Wait! Now you seem less egodystonic about it : )

@@IMSAIGuy , you are very capable. I have learned a lot from your channel. Thank you. [As I have stated, I had spent some time learning about TDR, VNA's, and even a bit about signal integrity for a entry level part-time electronics gig that I didn't get. It was about that time that I realized: most of the youtube channels I watched where I felt that they knew something about high-speed electronics and RF--where HAM radio people--even if one of them seemed to shun his HAM experience. I believe in this HAM / good electronics person connection so much I got a General and started on my Extra.]
