The hook itself is very very good, a great example on how to do pop hooks, but tronicbox's remix just pull the iron maiden effect and use the hook as a stagnant melody that gets fleshed out by the base chord progression constantly moving around it. Is one of those things that gives the edge for me in certain pop songs (lady gaga's bad romance has this exact concept done extremely well aswell)

Nothing like some good Ariana Venti and The Weekdaye to keep life upbeat!

First time i heard this was the summer of '85. Was crusing in my firebird with my girl, and we just parked in our makeout spot and let Ariana take us away. Ariana still looks great today, it's amazing! I don't know how she does it!

Because it's not an original song or a cover. The closest you can get to even putting a mashup on spotify is by singing a song over the instrumental of another song, like singing karma chameleon over the footloose instrumental yourself.

Summer of '83 really did give us some classics

The remixes you create are much better than the other 80's remixes on KZread. You actually make them sound different and original, and those G#7alt and 9th voicings really work well with those bass lines. For an artist very famous in the 80s, Ari sure had a very comtemporary voice, that's why her songs are so timeless, absolutely priceless! Remember when we used to argue over who the real pop queen was, she or Madonna? I think now we have the answer.

True but nothing beats “Kissland” one of his most underrated albums that was released in the late 70’s but Micheal Jackson made “off the wall” in the same year so it probably didn’t get it as much attention as it deserved

Ah, I remember the night like it was just yesterday. January 27th, 1986. Me and a girl I really liked went to the local arcade, got a little buzzed, and played a ton of games for hours on end. I always liked that arcade because of the wide variety of games, and their jukebox was amazing. As we were taking one of our many drink breaks, she began to tell me how much fun it was to hang out with me. I told her how much of an amazing, beautiful girl I thought she was. The one thing I remember vividly though, was that this song was playing right as I was telling her this. Before I knew it, our lips met. It was the sweetest kiss I ever had. Haven't had a better one before or since. When our lips finally parted ways, there was a brief awkward silence between us, but I remember both of us just standing there, listening to this song, and then smiling at each other. I drove her home that night, and promised we'd hang out again sometime. Though she was really drunk, and sadly probably doesn't remember much about that night today, I'll never forget the sweet, sweet taste of her lips every time I hear this song. Ariana and The Weeknd made a great couple. Without them, that moment wouldn't have been nearly as special. They really set the mood, and it's a shame they were taken away from us so soon.
