I have never seen this type of artwork. Is it regular ink and alcohol? What kind of blower are you using? Very delicate. I love your work.

No, alcohol ink is a real thing- the mix is very similar to a sharpie and it comes in bottles. Used a Ranger hand blower to move the ink around.

How about using bristl paper?

The bulb is that a lense cleaner used in photography? It's larger but essentially the same. Love this was instead of bursts of air from dust movers or airbrush.

Beautiful Lisa❣️ I had no idea you could use Sharpie’s for it. I have a question for you - can a mini blower maybe be used instead of the Ranger one? I used that one time and never again! I should have known better than to do it as I have carpal metacarpal breakdown. There’s no cushioning at all on my thumb joints so for the next couple of days, my hand was killing me. If I can use an alternative, I’d appreciate your input. Just love your artwork. ❤

Thank you, Alice! Oh, I understand. I have to use the hand blower with my palm because of a painful thumb. I feel like I tried a mini blower and wasn't thrilled. You could maybe start with a straw? Also, air brush compressors work well to move the air. ❤️

Every time I see your alcohol ink videos, I just sigh, think how beautiful your flowers are and wish I could create something even close. But you’ve inspired me once again. ❤️

I prefer the Grafix plastic art paper.

I’ve had alcohol pens for a while and never used them because I didn’t know how to thank you so much for this video. Can you use this method on a canvas? If so, should I gesso before using the pens or should I use the canvas right out of the package?

Thank you, Susan! It will be a lot harder on the canvas than the grafix plastic paper so I would do whatever you can to make the canvas smooth and slick...maybe several coats of acrylic paint first?

is the paper the best substrate to use? will it work on canvas? gesso? I'm wanting to do this on a 12 in round or a large canvas and frame. suggestions?

Practice on the paper first and when you're ready, move to wood, canvas or whatever. I like to lay down a couple of coats of paint first to smooth out the surface.
