80 - Texting in Dating Pt. 2

Flying solo today for this special episode, Sabrina is talking about texting while dating. Sabrina's personal experience highlights that the anxiety around texting persists even when trying to disconnect, but it's how you handle these feelings that matter. Texting can trigger black-and-white thinking, where unmet expectations validate negative core beliefs, leading to anxiety. Understanding that people have different texting habits and showing up authentically in relationships is crucial. Focusing on overall relationship dynamics is important rather than just texting patterns. Building security and confidence helps alleviate anxiety. Compromise is key, especially when texting habits differ between partners. Effective communication, setting realistic expectations, and addressing concerns with evidence can help manage texting-related anxieties. Ultimately, texting should not be the foundation of a relationship, and flexibility, understanding, and personal growth are essential for healthy interactions.

Newest fan here 💕 I watch you on all platforms and have been meeting to rate for so long. One - you are absolutely amazing & so relatable in every podcast! I appreciate all you give and offer to us because it’s so humbling and relatable to debunk together. More show requests- I know you focus on working through all the things in relationships but I would be so interested to see how you challenge, work, stay positive and overcome the mental struggles and self doubt in the work place /job setting relationship. I struggle with all things self worth, self imagine, trauma etc and struggle daily to not just take everything so damn personal in my work/passion. Again, thank you so much for everything! And keep fuckin doing the work 💕🙌

Once you talked about "being loveable", I balled my eyes out crying 😢. Great episode. I needed this video. I don't have IG anymore, but I remember following you on there. Glad you do KZread and I follow you on Spotify. But I like to see you in video verses listening on Spotify.

What if..they start the cadence with texts, calls, and then it abruptly changes ? That's what causes me anxiety and mood swings. What's a good approach

In an episode with Dr. David Buss, Andrew Huberman commented on anxious attachment. He said, it's "probably correlated with the frequency of demand of immediate text message responses ... and then as people get attached, depending on their level of anxiety, if they don't hear back from somebody really quickly, where the mind goes is a very interesting aspect. You know, do you become suspicious? Do you become anxious? Can you stabilize your own milieu, or do you need to see the dot dot dot that's coming back? I'd love to see a study on that at some point". kzread.info/dash/bejne/eoyutsR8ddSpesY.htmlfeature=shared&t=6292
