I met Simon la Bonn when I worked at Clapham junction ,what a true gentleman I thanked him for making the 80s great and we had a good chat ,lovely man great to have met him ,the 80s were the best it was our sixties I don’t think kids of today would ever look back like we did ,life was better then I think 👍🏻😊

exactly, GOOD music died on Dec 31st 1989.... and you are right, kids today will remeber nothign in the future because today's "music" is either remakes of the past or resamples and just talking with crappy sounds or noise on it... the follwoing week, it's something new, nobody remembers what was playing last year... hahaha

my last son, born on 2007, plays the piano. He only listens to 80' music and plays it. He usually says mom, you and daddy were SO LUCKY!!!! When you were 13, 15, 17 there were THAT music, THOSE movies, THOSE clothes, THAT atmosphere... what about ME and my friends? I always answer my love, you are lucky too, cause you can listen EVERYTHING, find videos and movies and everything about that magic period... and build something new being inspired by ALL those creations!

@Lisa Carvin I saw them in 1984 (my first concert) in 1989, twice during the 93-94 tour, in 2006 and finally again in 2016. I can attest that Simon is not only better looking at (a then) 58, he's a better performer, a MUCH better singer and can still hold an audience in the palm of his hand. He is one the best front men of all time.

It's so sad the 80 's passed together with the young singer of the 80's some are died and some are old now ,I wish I lived some year earlier to living all the decade of 80 's but as I was a child I remember every song of the 80's thank of my 9 year older sister wit the LP disk I hope she is passing her disseas at come back again in health how she was a God bless her ! 80's in my heart great memories !!!

Grew up on Billy Joel records, my brother had them all, until Storm Front. Kate Bush...mad props...I know she is an acquired taste, but so gorgeous and talented back in the day. Bjork....for me, one of the most distinguishable and instantly likeable female vocalists ever....loved the album Post, its like a weird vacation for the brain if you listen straight through. Enya....also timeless beauty and crystalline voice.

Phil Collins has great songs. The 80's as whole was a decade with great music. So much so, that the 90's and 2000's reused the songs in mixed and dance remixes.
