These were the days when going to mcdonalds was a special occasion. I would have to beg for a week to get taken to mcdonalds.

LOL it wasn't special to me in the 1980s. Pizza Hut was special.

What's strange is that probably haven't seen a lot of these commercials since 1982 (I was 6), but seeing all this now is actually making me remember it all.

Somewhere far in a distant planet (alien planet) there is some fast food restoraunt that sells children food and also merchandise from the famous move H.B. the Human Being.

i had this happy meal as a kid and one of the posters...was obsessed with ET

When I was kid back in the early 80s and my mother put up that E.T "the extra-terrestrial" poster up in my room I started crying and could not get my ass to lay in bed much less to sleep. So she took it down and put it up in her room. Finally she gave it away to her friends' kid who was not scared of it LOL.. haha .. the memories.

our local maccas didnt open till round 84 so thats why we never had this happy meal, im assuming it came out when the movie did, back in 82

I love Retro.

McDonald’s will now have happy meals for adults with retro toys. They’re trying to bring back them old school vibes.

Heres the reason why they don't have posters any more... A kid got a paper cut then sued

ET kids meals was at burger King for the special cut. And if I was alive I would get a cheeseburger and fries and a soda.

ronald the clown is the ONLY reasion i was scared of clownes for 6 years...

Those happy meal boxes are probably worth thousands of dollars today if someone saved one and it's in mint condition.

A poster?? That's it, I remember when E.T. came out..but, it would've been better if they had actual E.T. toys..I wasn't really allowed to hang posters in my room..back then..& back in the 80s they had waaay better McDonald's toys..And, E.T. "stuff" Toys, Stickers, lunch boxes..Resees didn't pick up until the the fall of 82..th🤔 I think E.T. came out June 11th 1982..I don't know, how i know this..🤷‍♀️

Posters and no toys? At least pizza hut gave out the E.T. drinking glasses which were way better.

I'm sure someone was smart enough to save the toys and not open them. I know i have 3 of 4 of the beanie babies they offered on different countries and they're boxed and in mint condition except for Ireland which is crushed a bit.

This commercial makes me actually want to go and buy a Happy Meal. Too bad the people who work at McDonald's don't wash their hands before cooking the food.
