That brick-clad design was under the previous Abramovich ownership. If the new American owners decide to rebuild Stamford Bridge, they will surely go for their own new design. They may use some features of the Herzog & de Meuron design because it was granted planning permission by the local council but it will have a different look. Now they can also include the newly acquired plot of land into future plans.

Lets be honest the club would make more money refurbishing the current stadium and incentivising more to use VIP seating. Than simply adding anoter 20000 seats. A bigger stadium alone doesnt guarantee success ..ask Spurs, ask Arsenal...neither have been stellar since moving
