8 Ways to Marble Clay - SAY GOODBYE TO BORING POTTERY!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Wow...what a clickbait title. Let's face it, pottery is boring to most people. Otherwise we would have 53 Million Subscribers like PewDiePie or Taylor Swift...well, I guess boring is subjective. OK, I've swerved WAY off topic...this video is NOT boring! Ann experiments with 8 ways to create excitement in the pottery world by mashing, bashing, clashing clay, paint, and faux texture tools to create a marbled clay look. Remember, Taylor Swift may be mega popular, but she failed ceramics in high school. You rock!
Answers to questions we get all the time:
We typically bisque to Cone 04 and fire to Cone 5-6
Ann uses Standard English Porcelain no. 365 unless specified otherwise in the video

If you would like to learn how Ann paints with underglazes - check out her Video Workshop Series. These workshops are very detailed (typically 1.5 - 2 hours in length) where Ann provides step by step instruction and are designed to help potters take their work to new levels of craftsmanship and artistry. vimeo.com/showcase/6725318

Love many of those effects. Ive used the shaving foam technique and layering coloured clay and have poured 3 colours of underglaze in thirds of the bowl.ithen swirled the bowl around moving the unnderglaze , It created a marbeing effect.

I made the mistake of using 2 different colors of clay but they had mismatched plasticity. You can imagine how my introduction to nerikomi went sideways. Literally. Newbie goof!😢😅
