DC wasn't forced to call their Captain Marvel Shazam. They just couldn't put Captain Marvel on merchandise, which includes the comic book titles. They could and still did call him Captain Marvel in the actual pages of the comics and even animated stuff like the Superman/Shazam short. They dropped using Captain Marvel after Flashpoint cause it's easier for branding, although there's currently still a Captain Marvel and Marvel family on Earth 5/Thunderworld that show up every once in a while.

I sincerely wonder if something like Marvel vs DC/DC vs Marvel and the Amalgam comics will ever happen again. It was pretty awesome in my opinion (although some of the Amalgam characters were pretty nutty) and I really hope it does, even if it is on a smaller scale like some of the other crossovers

And then Marvel bring karmic punishment on them, because as result of shady acquisition DC didn't really own trademark itself, only the character. So when original publisher go defunct it was open to take. Marvel noticed that DC mistake and registered it for themselves, what they absolutely could do, so DC in a way shoot themselves in the foot.

Anthony Rodriguez to play devils advocate let’s say you run a multi million/billion dollar business and your competition tries to pull one over on you or takes a jab at you, even on the slightest scale. Let’s say you let it go.....in business that can mean going from profit to losing money to in the most extreme case going out of business due to the competition and the opinions of the public/consumer.

Look, why can’t we just enjoy both for what they are and know that not ALL of their stories or characters have to be perfect. I love both DC and Marvel specifically Batman and Daredevil, however I have seen plenty of their story lines go to garbage. I’m looking at you Batman Rebirth and Daredevil Back in Black.

I still remember when my grand father was still alive, he used to have so many comics like Captain Marvel (Shazam), Wonder Man, The Invaders, The Crimson Avenger, Legion of Doom and many more. But I noticed when I was a kid, some of the comics where different, there's Marvel, Detective and etc. And my grand father said; "Comic books are not about competitions or rival companies, its about want we want to hear and to read. It gives us wonderful imaginations and interesting stories to feed our minds from this tragic world we're living." And I realised how much the comics was important to him, whether its DC or MC. I wish he's still alive so we can watch Shazam at the movies together 😢

This version of him was a government stooge who traded own free will for safety and he just get order to arrest insane vigilante Batman, to what he was reluctant. No I don't think it's out of the question. They still frequently cameo each others characters. For example in Hawkeye/winter soldier comic they joke about Batman and Robin, in a captain marvel in comic (in which she has the reality stone) we see Shazam (DC captain marvel) and few other examples. If they truly hated each other they wouldn't be allowing all these cameos.

@@kkr2122 Happened when Barry died back on Crisis on Infinite Earths I think. Marvel made a tribute in which a speedster was introduced in Marvel with amnesia and had torn clothes similar to the Flash's costume. This speedster said his name sounded a lot like Buried Alien and was faster than all of Marvel's speedsters.

Like Batman Green Lantern at DC, but mostly read Marvel. I'm sure most real fans do that too. Just the trolls that fall into camps. That said in comics alone, the both of these are just event after event now, and it has cause fatigue in my fandom. Down to like 5 books at this point.......

I like both DC and Marvel to me they are like a coin. One side is different from the other but they are worth the same.

Enjoy aspects of both. Both have some really great characters. I personally enjoy the ones that "bleed" (as batman would put it) more than the ones who are essentially all powerful and invincible. I also like to see characters grow. So iron man (movies) annoy me. Superman idk if he can be called a hero if he's essentially unkillable by most opponents he faces... kinda boring. But batman, thor, captain america, etc. all appeal to me. The real rivalry? Deadpool vs Wolverine. If you were wondering the real reason wolverine can't be in a deadpool movie... it's because the movie would be 5 min long, with wolverine solving everything in the first 4 minutes. How to get deadpool in avengers end game: Step 1 - wolverine-esq recruiting scene where he tells captain america to piss off and that he's not joining their team just because all his people got deleted by thanos. Step 2 - giant fight scene in some city on earth. Step 3 - deadpool walking out of burrito shop with a chimichanga casually strolling through said fight. Bad guy blows up chimichanga right as he's about to eat it. And now he's pissed off enough to fight. How to save avengers in end game: Step 1 - get hishe Step 2 - get batman Step 3 - go to cafe with the avengers and discuss how batman can solve thanos problem faster than entire marvel universe. Step 4 - Get answer (because I'm batman). Step 5? - Superman shakes head (not this again).

@@pavvin Well, the recently released Spiderman PS4 is on par with the arkham games in terms of quality, maybe they are making a comeback in the video game industry.

@@christiankarl280 I really liked the new Spiderman and I would like to play in continuation, but you have to admit that the Arkham Series is better (although it's difficult to compare 1 game with 4). Rocksteady confirmed that he is working on another DC game, but I think that Insomniac is also planning a whole spider series and maybe even more, Future will show :D (Im fan of Marvel but I just Like DC little bit more)

At one point "Shazam" was "Captain thunder" in fairness, Marvel stories "grew up" at least a decade before DC.

How did you miss using the clip from Frankenstein 1970 where Karloff says "Poor Shooter, why did it have to be you?:

Powergirl seems more like a knock on Supergirl than Luke Cage in my opinion.

Mike Munoz except they made a character geared to little girls into an overly sexualized tart who can’t figure out how to fully dress herself. Next you’re going to say Starfire becoming a nudist was about female empowerment and not just eye candy for the predominant teenage male readers.

Wonder Man and Wonder Woman have very few similarities beyond the name as well, possibly less similarities than Luke Cage and Power Girl.

@@bbsy1 Why are you using strawman arguments? Power Girl is literary Supergirl but from an alternate dimension. No ifs or buts, that is her official backstory. I have no idea why you brought Starfire into the conversation. I wasn't defending her sexuality in any way.
