8 THINGS TO DO AND SET UP WHEN YOU MOVE TO AUSTRALIA
Thanks so much for watching and I really hope this was a helpful prompt for all the things you have to sort out when moving to Australia! As I mentioned, I’m obviously no expert in this and only know from my own experience so ensure you do your own research, correct me (politely!) in the comments if I got anything wrong and if I missed anything.

This was brilliant!! Thanks for all the useful info, we’re moving over next year ☺️
I moved to Perth from Birmingham at the end of April! It was very stressful with all the stuff we had to do to get here but I'm looking forward to being in Aus forever :)

@@glenod G'day!. My dream is to get me family over there on my engineering qualification. Then work me bollocks off to show I'm not trying to sponge off you guys. Get my feet in the door, get settled. Contribute as much as I can to your beautiful country. And show my kids what it's like and how it should be done. I want it so bad I actually feel sick lol. Can't think of a better country for my kiddo's to grow up in. And I'd give everything I have to your country to make that happen. I just want to contribute and let my kids have a future.

@@glenod want my kids to experience real nature. Real fishing. Real travelling. Real fishing/hunting etc. But I want them to know where it's come from to be able to do that. And to respect the place they live and be proud to be in Australia. I'm talking with a visa consultant on the 18th so fingers crossed 🤞. Thanks for commenting back mate. All the best

@@hadassah_abx Our life is very good. My new born is now 18 & I have a 16 year old too. We live near the beach & near shops & transport links into the city. The cost of living crisis is apparent but we have a rental and making it work. We are very grateful to be here and I know we are very blessed & lucky. Thanks so much for your comment 😊

Hi there, thank you for this it is really helpful as we are planning to move next year. Just a quick question about the bank account issue when you first got there, at the moment i do have an account with revoult ( similar like monzo i guess ) do you reckon i can use that for my temporary option to pay and receive money from my work ? Thank you in advance!!! 😊

Hey thank you for this video !! I’m hoping to get over to aus September 2022. What is the wait time for the visa like ? Im hoping to go in the working holiday visa 😁

Hey, the visa itself took us about 1 month to get through if I remember correctly! I did a whole video on our process getting over here which is on my channel if you’re interested ☺️
Could you let me know which episode of she’s in the money that she talks about leave allowance? I used to listen to this podcast but found it rather irrelevant to me but this episode sounds really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Do you need an Aus bank account to purchase a sim card if you’ve got no aus dollars? Or can you use a UK one
@CatLScully
Жыл бұрын
Nope that’s fine so long as your uk card works abroad & the usual charges would apply for overseas transactions
How do you get the National insurance number? Is it after you get the VISA?
@CatLScully

Yep after you get your visa - it’s the TFN which I mention in the vid & link to in description box
I have a job offer in SC !
What sort of financial clout do you need to to get set up over there ? Would at 80k a year Job keep me and my partner afloat while she looks for work ? Obviously moving there you'd not be able to get a mortgage and get on the housing ladder so you'd have to rent ... is it insanely expensive ? Considering the UK mortgage and rental market is now around 1500 a month for a house where we are
@CatLScully
Жыл бұрын
Hard to say for sure as obviously depends entirely on your outgoings, if you’re saying 80k AUD I’d say it would be doable but restrictive - if the equivalent of 80k GBP then much better lol!! Yeah you’d generally have to rent. Again depends on the area & size place but I’d say the same sort of rate as you’ve quoted would be about right from what we’ve seen, in the areas of Perth we’ve looked at!
@danielbartram1774

@Cat thanks for the reply! Yeah it's 80k aud.. yeah it's tough to get a sense of how much of a struggle it would be. The other issue seems to be the isolation from the cost of flying there or away from there - isn't it usually around 2k per ticket ??
😂😊
i moved a few days ago and need a sim card.. but do not have an australian bank account yet! they only accept payment from an aussie card.. what do i do?
