8 Things Staffies Hate That Humans Do

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

You may not have realised some of the things that we do to our Staffies can irritate them. So we're going over 8 things Staffies hate that humans do. 🐕
🐾 FREE STAFFY TRAINING GUIDE: The 4-Step Guide to Walking Without a Lead:
staffydog.com/free-staffy-tra...
Many of us don't think twice about giving our Staffy a hug or pulling them away from an enticing smell. But these, along with other things us humans do, Staffies hate.
All we want to do is give our Staffordshire Bull Terrier love and do what's best for them. But dressing them up and getting them to play with other dogs isn't the way to do it. Neither is yelling and leaving them alone.
So, take these 8 things that Staffies hate on board, and try to be aware of how you're treating your Staffy. 🦴

Great video! The Staffordshire Bull terrier is THE finest breed of all- bar none. Fantastic dogs, highly intelligent, strong characters, intuitive, extremely loyal and affectionate, utterly fearless and courageous, with a terrific sense of fun- always ready to play a game! There are dogs, and then there are Staffies, it's that simple. Once you've had a Staffordshire, no other breed will suffice. I'm on my third, they are the finest and most noble friend you will ever have.

Staffies are Thieves! A Staffie stole my heart when I was in my teens & I never got it back. My wife is victim of Staffie theft too, we have lost our girl, Swanky Queen of the North, Sansa (it just had to be) to cancer, her cousin our boy Swanky Double Trouble, Binky, is still inconsolable, as are we. Binky & Sansa were six & seven for me, four & five for the Mrs. We both love all dogs, but agree there are dogs… then there are Staffies. Loved your post man. Tim & Suzy from Brisbane. 👍🏼😁🇦🇺🎸🎼🐕🐈‍⬛

Separation anxiety is very strong with my boy. He's a rescue and was left shut up in the kitchen with his original family when they went out and they frequently went out for the whole day. I've got round that by taking him to work with me and he loves sitting in the van watching the world go by. As for sniffing he can do as much as he wants because it's his walk not mine and I know it's good for him. I've never raised my voice at him. As for sticking your face in his it's definitely a bad move because he will jump up and headbutt you. I've had 2 complete strangers approach us on a walk, tell me what a good looking boy Buster is then lean in to give him a kiss. Luckily I was quick enough to stop him butting them then had to educate them on what you shouldn't do to a dog you don't know. I thought it was common sense but it seems some people are not in possession of much. He's a fantastic dog, all my friends family and customers love him and I simply can't imagine life without him ❤

Sweet sweet doggo goodness. Staffies are the most awesome dogs in my opinion, our family has had 5 of them and although we've had and loved other dog breeds I will always hold staffies closest to my heart. My staffy saved my life a few years ago, I've never known that much loyalty or love from any human that's not immediate family so they'll always have my love and respect. Great with kids, brilliant all-rounders and are the perfect family dog who will protect you with their life and savage a robber, but will also play ever so gently with a toddler. Amazing dogs honestly, love em to bits 👍🏻

My boy is a staffy/labrodor cross but hes definitely got the personality traits described in this video... hes just much bigger than a normal staff, so is obviously much stronger too. The labrador side of him makes him easier to train and he loves being rewarded and enjoys working. would not swap him for anything and at the age of 2 hes turning into a wonderful, friendly, loyal companion

Having just recently obtained a Staffy pup (rescued him from a flat on our estate were he was on his own in a shitty cage in a shitty flat). Anyway's, great helpful vid's & learn't a hell of a lot plus reassurance that so far I've been doing the right thing especially there diet & exercise. He's around 17/18week's old, I'm now trying to stop the biting, I personally think the Weapon Head who previously had him rough played with him hence he thinks its all good. Apparently his name was Bruiser (say's it all) But o no not now he's called Jerry & he's absolutely fantastic & he's had all his proper med's & injection's putting weight on bald patches are going. This is why i sometimes tell people some Humans (not all)are just way to much for me to get my head around. Mind you they probably say that about me. Lol.

We have 4 staffies at home (a mom, two of her daughters from different dads, and the other daughter's dad) and maybe they're a little weird or maybe they've gotten used to it, but they don't really seem to mind people (and me especially) getting up in their face. One of the daughters also "gives hugs", in that she'll put her front paws over my shoulders and her head on top of mine and stay there wagging her tail and often also licking my face :'D I suspect this started as either a way to get tummy scratches, or as a way to hide her paws from me when I try to clip her nails (which she absolutely detests), but now she just does it on her own if I'm sitting on the floor or she's on the bed with me. My staffies, in addiiton to not being big fans of getting their nails clipped, do not enjoy water much at all, such as swimming of taking a bath. A bunch of sillies :)

Every morning at 6 AM, she goes boink against the door. Haven't had to set an alarm to get up on time ever since she joined our family. She did add a little sub routine I'm less pleased with, and that's the 3 AM boink for no other reason to get me downstairs for attention. If I ignore her she doesn't stop, and I'm a light sleeper so might as well go send her back to bed, right? Sure, I go downstairs, annoyed and sleep deprived, to open the door to the most adorable look and little tail wag... And then I have to find my 'strict' voice to send her back to her bed. I'm terrible at the strict voice, she knows this so well 😆 She doesn't do this with my partner 🙃 It's a work in progress.

I don't know about the hugging; I am constantly awakened by my Amstaff throughout the night as he snuggles right up next to me and puts his paw across my chest, and hugs me; when I do it to him, he seems to love it, and he doesn't try to pull away or get away from me at all, he actually pulls into me more.

My Staff always comes up to me, (dad) at a soon as he sees the chance. He leans his head into my chest, and loves the comfort when I scratch/cuddle him meanwhile. He will fall asleep standing up if it’s one of “I’m too tired to bent my legs” days. Depends on the dog 😁

Also, while we are on this topic: please please please us a harness instead of a collar when walking your Staffie on the lead! It might seem counter-intuitive but they tend to pull less as they are more relaxed, and it's much better for their necks. Those thick collars might look cool to some but a harness is much more comfortable for these adorable little walking coffee-tables.
