There is a big difference between 63 and 50. I am 66 and can no longer wear some things that I wore at 50. Changes occur in your skin no matter how slim you are.

I am also 66 and I don’t wear shorts in public. I wear skirts that hit just above the knee but I don’t like what has happened to the skin in the thigh area. Not attractive.

I am 56 and can say for sure there is a big difference between 50 and 56. Around 54-55 I noticed that skin had changed drastically compared to what it had looked like at 50.

Yes, ladies…63 here. Bunch a stuff I’ll wear at home that I won’t wear in public! The skin DOES change - a slender build doesn’t matter. No worries - we’re beautiful at any age and maxi skirts are our friends ❤❤❤

I agree! In my younger years was super fit and toned. I’ll be 58 and never overweight ever- but skin gets loser. Crepe skin is a factor and really no way around. I use the crepe skin lotion and self tanner and it helps a lot, but won’t wear short shorts. I had a killer back and would not go backless again either unless I tone up (but I don’t care).

In Italy we have a saying that translated goes like this : 'Highschool from behind and museum from the front' LOL . I try not to look like high school from behind.

I am 70. I live in Sicily, in linen shorts and t-shirts in the long hot summers. I do yoga, cycle and (in summer) swim. I also shave and scrub my legs; the skin is good. In winter, I wear leather A line shorts with opaque leggings and ankle boots. I don't do off the shoulder tops, ripped denim or heels (other than low heeled cowboy boots). Nor trench coats or puffer jackets - but love biker jackets. In shearling in winter

Interesting that some of the best dressed seniors ever are in the cities of Italia. It is just a wonderful culture and we learn so much from it. I hate rules. I will not be boxed in.

I just turned 50 last year so I appreciate these videos. I agree to no short & tight dresses, crop tops, stiletto high heels, I love a good midi dress, crop jacket & subtle ripped denim! Cathy, you look amazing! You do not look your age at all! You did a great job in this video. I love a good bomber jacket & faux fur jacket.

I’m in total agreement with both points of view. I’ll be 62 in February and there’s nothing classier than knowing when to avoid those pieces that are simply no longer flattering. In fact, it’s always better to avoid trying too hard. We all need to embrace getting older. You’re both truly beautiful inside and out and enjoyed and loved the video together! I’m 68 and more w Kathy’s opinion but we all have our preferences regardless of age. I wouldn’t wear ripped jeans ever because it seems very juvenile to me. Last time I wore them was in my teen/hippie days! As for mini skirts, I love wearing them in fall and winter w opaque tights and boots to cover the flaws. Bare legs are out. A little leg makeup at the beach or poolside does wonders and def sun dresses instead of shorts! Most of my friends are 10+ yrs younger than me and they love my style, so I guess I’m good. Love heather’s channel and her style. You both look beautiful. ❤

Great video Heather! How wonderful to have your friend on with you! I am the same age as Cathy and I have experienced a lot of the same issues she has. The one thing I will not wear anymore is off the shoulder tops because I have the same problem. Every time I lift my arms the shirt goes up over my shoulders and it drives me bonkers. I don’t like anything that I have to fuss with while I’m wearing it. The other issue that I could relate to that Cathy has is the crepey skin. I have tried many different lotions and serums and nothing really changes it. I just have to dress to accentuate the positive and to hide the negative…lol ❤😂❤

It was so nice to see you both. I have never worn ant type of ripped jeans. I also will not be wearing short shorts or crop tops. I love wearing flowing dresses in the summer. I have always worn some type of tights or leg wear with all my dresses and shirts in the fall and winter. I really enjoyed this clip.

Love watching your videos! I am 58 and love fashion. I will wear minimal ripping in my jeans! The trend is not as big now so I don’t wear it as much but still love it. If it is minimal and not too tight your skin will not poke out.

LOVE IT! I'm 62 and while I WILL continue to wear modestly ripped denim- I will NOT wear the new CUFFED denim! I just don't think it looks flattering on ANYONE!. I TOTALLY LOVE Cathy's floral dress and your all black outfit with the Camel Cashmere cardigan! I have a TON of Quince cashmere. It's one of my favorite brands- AND least expensive! I also LOVE Naadam cashmere- also BEAUTIFUL at an excellent price.

I am the same age as Cathy and she makes some good points. I do wear short shorts but they have to be fitted because chafing is really an issue at our age and the crapey skin is why I don't like revealing dresses either. A dress with a sheer sleeve can be really beautiful.

I’ll be 63 in a few days. I will wear distressed denim but only if it has cute patches behind the rips like sequins or a print. I wear a lot of dresses. I’ve been purging my closet of things I no longer feel comfortable wearing and getting some new items I’m excited to wear - more dresses. 😂 My arms are not as firm skinned as they were either so I am into button up cardigans and short sleeves now. I may start lifting some weights more, but for right now I’m just changing my style a bit to make me feel more comfortable and still fashionable.

Just turned 64 myself. Another way to wear distressed jeans is over a pair of lace-type leggings. This works similarly to the patch idea. I often match the color of the leggings to something else I am wearing (blouse, jewelry or purse) to get a quasi-tonal effect.

Heather, when buying your cashmere cardigan from Quince did you buy your actual size or did you size down? I wouldn’t have considered this sweater if I had only seen it on their page but LOVE it on you.

I share your worry about bulging through ripped jeans, but as I had a real favourite pair of jeans I didn't want to give up, I bought some skintone stretch fabric and used a transparent iron on glue backing to stick the skintone fabric on the back of the rips and Voila!
