There's a million ways this could've been done and improved but this was just my quick solution with a few things I had. Edit: Hello, just wanted to mention that the thickness is 3/16" Sorry I forgot to add it in the video. Just keep in mind that they are measured pretty poorly so you may or may not need the extra thin foam strip to make up the difference. Don't forget to like and subscribe :)

That was perfect. Thank you for sharing. I have a sketch board. But I find it’s way to big. Especially if im just going somewhere and want to draw. This will allow for a more compact board. Wicked🤘🏽❤️🤘🏽

@@YourFreakIvy thank you! I've never owned one but it did look quite hefty in videos and would've taken took much desk space for me as well. I even made it a little shorter compared to the first white one I was using.

Ideally, make another square cut out on the backside so there’s an open back where the battery is so the ipad doesn’t overheat and the heat can dissipate through there.

you should use a new blade as you will get a better edge...also I used an old curling iron I bought at second hand shop to smooth edges....it is great for foam smoothing in building out of styrofoam

Does this work well when drawing with it in ur lap? I’m usually always in the living room typically and can’t afford a desk right now and besides my 2 yo nephew would probably push any couch friendly desk I got so it being comfortable to use in my lap is a must and why I hesitate to get the actual sketch board even if I had the money for it.

Yeah I’ve used it a few times on the couch. Just make sure you gauge where you put the center of the iPad to be more comfortable in that position.

That's not a ruler, it's a scale. It's used for measuring, not for drawing. The idea is that you never use it to draw or cut because you want to keep the edge intact so you can read the measurements. Sorry, I was a draftsman in another life. ;-)
