Yep. Yesterday, a taxi driver saw me running on the street as I was rushed to get somewhere and he stopped the car to ask me friendly if I wanted and needed for him to drive me somewhere, but I freezed and declined. Anyway, there was no need for me to go by taxi, as I was only a few metres away from the destination. But I didn't like that I panicked at his invitation. I also laughed a bit.

I've been friendzoned by this guy up to a point of him calling me "a friend". And what do you know, a few weeks ago we kissed and are happy together. He explained that he just fancied me too much and was too shy to show it in any romantic way, because he was afraid of rejection. To be fair, according to this video I was treating him the friendzon style too.. So don't be afraid to show your affection due to the fear of rejection. There are people with mutual romantic interest, who end up as friends just because both are afraid of rejection to the point of acting strictly friendly with each other.

This sounds kind of like me. I like way too many people to some degree, I want to get to know them, to become friends with them, but I don't want to say anything that could be in any way construed as romantic, not just because I feel like people won't appreciate it, but because I don't know if my feelings will fade. The only thing I felt remotely comfortable with was texting with my close friends that I would never be the one to initiate any sort of romantic relationship, and that I would hope that someone who liked me would actually make that obvious. Is there any hope for me?

I once visited a psychologist specialised in men, mostly in their thirties, who can't get sex or relationships. One of her main tenets was: forget the verb "to friendzone". You don't get friendzoned. You're doing that yourself. Certainly one of the main remedies, make your intention clear from the very beginning, is hinted at here already.

I think the thing a lot of people seem to forget is that relationships weren’t always “you wanna date? Yeah? Okay, see u Friday I’ll pick you up” our hustle culture has conditioned us to think that if it hasn’t lifted off by X amount of time it’s a wrap. There’s no such thing anymore as building trust over a long period of time before reassessing and deciding that a relationship is actually a good future for mutual friends.

I have a friend-well, used to be a friend- who I thought was closer than they actually were. I was going through some stuff and they stuck by me, even though our classmates judged them for staying friends. They became the reason I didn't kill myself and kept fighting. I noticed things about them and trusted them more than anyone else. Little did I know, they were just being kind and didn't think of me that way. It's been a year since they actually really talked to me, but I still tell stories about them because they are such a big part of who I am. I miss them, even though they're still in the same general area. It feels like there's miles between us even though he's only two feet away.

Take this video with a grain of salt. Was really close friends with a girl that we've been very platonic with. We were friends for a year and did tik every checkmark on this list that says we're just friends. After she get out of a multiple year relationship she would always tell me about the guys she was talking to. One of our friends made a joke how me and her should date and she said "That would be incest, he is like a brother to me". But I had developed feelings for her, didn't ask her out basically just let her know I fancy her. Things escalated and now we're dating. Turns out she had a thing for me as well, I asked her why she didn't show any signs at all and she said she was sacred since she believed I didn't look at her that way and was afraid not to weird me out and ruin things.

I had the same happen to me last week. Whether it was too early or too late is not important I believe - the emotional connection is where it's at. The girl clearly liked me, but I never made a romantic move, but rather just confessed my feelings which put us in an uncomfortable position. No reason to invite someone on a date if you've been hanging out with them without a "situation label" for a while. Next time just go for the kiss when the timing is right :)

I met a woman at the park a while back. We talked for HOURS! Once it started getting darker we left the parked and continued our conversation while we walked. Never have I ever had such long and deep conversations with another woman the way I have with her And she's said the same about me. We both have admitted to feeling comfortable and safe around/with each other. We both agreed we feel a sense of peace and understanding when together. Well.. recently I confessed to her that I liked her deeply. That the feelings grew over time and even asked her if she'd give us a chance to see where it could go. Sad to say she rejected me. Said she only saw/sees me as a friend. Although she's admitted that I have ALL the qualities she looks for in a guy, on top of the ways I make her feel. . She just kept saying that she just wants a friendship with me. . I had no other choice but to accept and respect that.. but dang does it hurt. 😔 compared to the guys she's been with i know id be a better option but im not even an option. . She reached out yesterday to mention how she's been thinking about her ex. . An older guy. A creep. Who only wants to bust a nut.. hurts to see the woman you like do that to herself just so she can get hurt again. This is why I tried closing myself off and avoid falling for anyone. . I came across this meme the other day that goes: "Them: how do you lose a girl?" "Him: just be a good guy, they hate that shit" Thought it was funny at first until I realized I was him.. Hope all the good guys out there are doing alright. Keep your heads up kings. You're all great! And deserve a queen who will love you back the way you'd love her. Alright. Bye

If you haven't heard of it, you should do some reading on attachment theory. It sounds like that's kinda what happened here...she probably has anxious attachment which means she'll unconsciously want to keep going back to her ex who sounds like he has avoidant attachment. It's a sad game of magnets. You weren't avoidant, so she didn't feel an attachment to you. Attachment theory is not the end-all-be-all but it can apply to a lot when it comes to relationships, and if nothing else, will help put things into a new perspective.

It is somewhat weird that if you are to survive as a romantic couple, you really have to be friends as well. The main problem with the friend zone seems to be that too many people instantly put you there unless they want to "knock boots" with you when they first meet you. I do think it is rare for a woman to allow a man who they have friend zoned to actually become a romantic partner.

I get that it can be difficult and nerve racking but I will share the advice that was given to me and worked for me (I’m also a very shy introvert): think about the best thing that could come from you telling her. Whatever that is for, wouldn’t it be worth it to tell her? In reality, probably the worst thing that could happen is she says no and life continues as is. And you’ll have your answer and not have to worry about it anymore. So imagine the best case scenario and take that chance and tell her. You got this :)

As an introvert myself that liked a girl who is just as quiet and won't speak up unless you poked her yourself or she is very comfortable with you, just smack your chest in and tell her. I learned this the hard way but after doing so it alleviates a LOT of mental burden. Mind you she didn't say no, didn't think I was her type, or exactly friendzone me, but rather she's pessimistic about relationships for now. To be fair I shared the same views as her but I just wanted to get it out of my system and face the truth so I could stop being awkward around her.

I believe self-love and self-worth are the basis of all great long-lasting relationships. Never get involved with anyone else until you discover ways to love yourself first because if you ever find yourself being rejected or "friend-zoned" (a term I don't like using) you won't feel disappointed as much and you'll be able to accept and move on a lot more gracefully Because, how? You will still feel great about yourself and hold the keys to your own happiness.

This video helped explain a recent interaction I had with a longtime friend. We had been friends for 4 years, and a week ago, I revealed my feelings for her. She (gently) friend-zoned me, even as I attempted to sell the idea of dating me. The 4 years was probably too long to wait to reveal my feelings.

I’ve been on both sides, and both situations hurt both people involved mentally in different ways and magnitudes. If you like a friend romantically the best way is to tell them, maybe if you’re not sure about your feelings wait a few months but not more, not after you’re sure. Tell them and if they don’t return the feelings, end the friendship. They might realize they also have feelings after cutting contact as the space allows them to think more, or they might not and even be more sure they don’t have romantic feelings. Maybe if you’re really in love ask them again after a few months of no contact, and if they still don’t return it, move on. Love can’t grow deeper than an obsession when it’s one sided. It’s like a tennis match, to have fun and grow you need two players in the game. Don’t settle for anything less. Don’t stay in a mentally unhealthy situation for too long as the consequences of that will also affect your otherwise healthy relationships in future.

Friendly reminder, just because she/he agrees or invites you to do things just the two of you doesn't necessarily means she/he sees you in a romantic way. Case and point, I've been dealing with the exact same fact that a person that I like doesn't see me that way. But we pretty much always do things just the two of us. She once explained to me that she did it with all her friends since she has a wide variety of acquaintances from different social circles. So making casual activities and making sure everyone has a fun time is not an easy thing to do. It sucked, but it is the reality so it's okay. I can live with just being friend since she's actually really cool.

Not gonna lie, I have this “friend zone barrier” that I rarely notice time to time, so sometimes, I see myself “too friendly” to those that like me, which can lead to confusion. I basically have most friend zone qualifies that the video mentioned, but reversed, I basically do what the video mentions... but in a sense I’m trying to be better friends with them. As someone aromantic, it’s hard to pick up the signs from friends, but once I do, I’d go along with it. So if they are happy, then I’m good with that.

I was in the situation and let me tell you it hurts. where you know both parties have feelings towards each other but are afraid to admit it. I was too scared to admit my feelings because….. I don't know the real reason but I just was. And now he's moved on and I'm just here . But one thing that I've learned is to express your feelings because life is too short. And what's the point of having regrets? One day I will talk with him and clear everything up but I'm also a coward to face that certain communication.

The best advice what you can do, if you get friendzoned is... end this relationship. There is a very high risk, that you are going to be exploited by your "crush", because they know that you are emotionally tied. Second reason is simple - you can't build a friendship, if your expectations are different. You will not be able to recover from rejection if you will be spending much time with that person. Third reason - they told you "let's be just friends", but they actually don't like you, they don't have a courage to say directly "you are not interesting for me, go away". This is not pessimistic point of view, this is reality.

I have to object. I have had people in my life who cared about me deepy and wanted more and I liked them as friends and cared about them, but didn't see them as anything more than friends. I didn't want them to go away, I wanted them in my life and I did respect them. The only reason some of those friendships broke was because they didn't respect that and tried to force me or convince me, which made ME feel exploited. In some extreme cases this has been going on for years until we broke ties because they could not accept that I was not going to be with them, sleep with thfm or what not just out of a good deed. But there were cases when crushes became really good friends and even more than that- we both realized we were better off as friends and that we would have been a horrible couple or would have had a very incompatible relationship. But as friends, we were absolutely fine. Sometimes you can get MUCH closer as friends than you could have ever gotten in a relationship. It depends on you and it depends very much on the other person too. Rejection doesn't always necessarily have anything to do with you. Sonetimes the people you like may simply not be a good match romantically or they don't have the capacity for a relationship, some of them may not be ready to love anyone in that way. It's not always that personal. Sometimes people are going through difficult things and would even like to fall in love or like you back but simply can't. Mental health issues are one really big reason for that. Or they may still be in love with their ex or recover from their last relationship. Again, it's very individual, some people feel ready one month after a break up to build something new, others will take 2 years or longer (neurologically, after 2 years the brain is generally ready to mix a new love cocktail 🍸). Some people are busy building a career or finding themselves and would appreciate a friend in their lives. Walking away from somebody because they don't give you what you want immediately kinda raises the question if you are actually ready to give in a relationship or just looking to find something that benefits you, your ego and your physical and sexual needs. It's about give and take though. Just because you don't get instant gratification in the way you would like doesn't mean it wouldn't be worth sticking around and try to build something honest with mutual respect and care.

  • @PiotrZora

    @PiotrZora

    2 жыл бұрын

@@ip1136 Building a friendship with someone from the beginning and trying to create one after being friendzoned are very different things. As a rule, the situation gets so complicated that neither side comes out well. Even if the other person has a sincere friendship to offer, there is still the issue of emotional attachment. It's nice to have friends, but it doesn't satisfy the need for love with someone. Personally, I don't see the point of building anything with a person I had other expectations of. I have no obligation to maintain a friendship with someone when I will feel uncomfortable in it. Just because I'm interested in finding a partner doesn't mean I need "instant gratification." If I'm looking for someone to have a relationship with and the attempt turns out to be unsuccessful, I just move on and don't play any weird games.

What's funny is that when I first met my boyfriend I didn't know if he liked me at first but when we were friends when I invited him to my badminton match at my high school and he came all the way to my high school (because he went to a different high school) and took the city bus to come to my match. That was the first sign. He showed up at my match and while I was in the court my boyfriend looked at me when I was playing. I looked away and blushed because I couldn't do nothing about it at the time. After I was done with my match I sat next to him and he asked me "how did the match go?" I said "I won my match." He complimented back "You did a great job out on the court" I just looked at him while blushing there. That was the second sign. He eventually asked me if I was hungry and I said "Yea of course I'm tired of my match" he brought some snacks. (When he brought me snacks I knew he was gonna be a good hubby) That was the third sign. After we were done eating our snacks we went to the tennis court and talked there. We talked about all sorts of things about school, sports, and life. Then we started to talk about deep stuff in our life about our past. I really felt like we had a really deep connection. And at that time it was only the second day we were friends. After we had our deep conversation we were flirting a bit and I sat closer to him and see how he would react. I looked at him straight into his eyes and told him "Close your eyes" he asked me "Why? " I shouted at him "Just do it! " I felt like it was the right moment and I kissed him on the lips. I know this story sounds crazy but its true. My point is that these signs were the smallest hints I saw that others couldn't. For whoever reads my comments single or not should understand that if someone really wants to spend time with you. You should see these little signs about the person your crushing on. Sorry everyone for the inconvenience of this long paragraph.

Tell me if I'm wrong but I'm just going to say it: All the aspects of the friend zone make for an unhealthy friendship. Think about it, has anybody ever said that they are happy being in the friendzone? Why have a friend when you're not happy?

Well I'm happy to be in the friendzone. There's always one.

I understand, but sometimes it’s just to hard to completely disconnect from the person you like. Only way to prevent that from happening is to not have a relationship with them at all. But if you want to take the risk, all for it.

It seems to me that the entire friendzone issue is a case of "YOU walk a mile in my shoes, and see how you feel". If someone thinks you're a good person to have at social gatherings, but any crush you might have on them is waved away, just wait your turn. Because 9 times out of 10, someone else will have a crush on YOU, but you will want nothing to do with them romantically. It's a vicious circle. And not that many know how to untangle themselves from it.

He friend zoned me, so I apologised for interpreting his messages as flirting and said I’d never make that mistake again. He said, well maybe not never. I can’t do this 😭

Altho i know everything abt what u show in ur videos, however the way u say it and show it, makes me comfortable and ocnfirm to me that most of my analysing is right, tbh i find ur chanel very attractive and cultivative. Keep being creative and making cool videos as always.😊🙏
