This game’s roster is probably the best roster we ever had. It has a little bit of everything from the 80’s, early 90’s, Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression, Modern Era as well as the Wrestlemania arenas.

2:24 Piper wasn’t removed from the game. He was in the Wreslemania 10 match of Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna in the 30 years of Wrestlemania mode as special guest referee for that match. You could also create him by going to create a superstar, go to “WWE Superstar Faces” and you could find his face among the wrestlers featured, then you could find 5 different attires for him to create in the game.

A few things I can add from a former THQ team member doing a Q+A on one of the wrestling game boards in 2016 or 2017. - The Wrestlemania 1 main event was scheduled to be in. They even mo capped many moves and taunts for Paul Orndorff. Once Orndorff wouldn't sign and Mr. T wanted too much money they scrapped orton and snuka. They then changed Piper from a playable character to a superstar head to promote the mode. - Sid and Shamrock were on rocky terms with WWE at the time and were not included for that reason.Sycho Sid is a WWE trademark so they couldve used the name without royalties being paid out. - Bossman and Mr. Perfect (not the nwo dlc) were also to be included. As was El Matador, but they were scrapped due to Bossman-Perfect and HBK - El Matador wrestlemania matches being scrapped due to time constraints. Shirts for Bossman, Duggan, and Perfect can be seen in the Wrestemania crowd still. That's how late they were scrapped. George Steele was never considered for the game. They knew going in that Savage vs. Steamboat would have to be done without including him. - Sammartino was included since the video game appearance was part of his HOF deal. THQ tried to get Superstar Billy Graham also, but he wouldn't come to terms ion account of his hatred for mcmahon and WWE. - Hogan was not under a legends deal at the time. THQ was able to put Hogan in this, like with all stars, because he had several games left on his contract wth THQ/2K. The wrestlemania mode was actually put together later than usual because legally they had to make sure that they could use Hogan. This also resulted in the free DLC (the outsiders) being done and available later than the release date. - Goldberg vs. Lesnar was included simply to get Goldberg in. If they couldn't get Goldberg it would've been Undertaker vs Kane included instead. and finally - Hogan vs. McMahon at Wrestlemania 19 was scheduled, but they simply players wouldn't like the amount of Hogan in the game if they used him pat the Hulkamania era (except for Wrestlemania 18 vs. The Rock)

The WWE 2k14 DLCs aren‘t in the PS3 Store. They were removed after WWE 2k16 came out but you can get them with a jailbroken PS3.

2K14 had everything from a good story mode, stacked roster, all championship titles, universal mode, and a good WrestleMania showcase. It’s been my favorite 2K game since it’s release and I wish I would’ve played it more often after. The game aged fine like wine

2K14 was sooooo much Loveee I swearrr... The hours my friend and I put into this game, especially in Universe, booking matches, 30 Years of Wrestlemania, Beat the Streak, I Quit, Gauntlet, Special Guest Referee, Elimination Chamber with Tag Teams, Inferno Matches and so on... also the STORY EDITOR.... GOSH, that one was fun. Moreover create a Finisher, Movie ( the templates for movies + Editing), Create an Arena, the Arcade Style Wrestling, More Weapons in Extreme Rules Matches, Wayyyyyy better weapon physics, CUSTOM SOUNDTRACK!!!, King of the Ring, the Cutscenes from the Universe Mode and so on... This game was the best 2K WWE Game made, followed by 2K19 ( which was very close, but it lacked some of the features 2K14 had and 2K14 still hits me very different 🥺🥺🥺) . 2K15... I don't even want to start ( Career Mode was a disaster, almost no storylines, ONLY 3 PPV you could choose from, Heel/Face mechanic was me, DARK OR PREP-UP MATCHES, BARON F****NG BLADE ( But the GOAT in later 2K Games), nonsensical matches in Career ( Cesaro wins against Big E and Cesaro in a 2 on 1 Handicap Match ( There were NO HANDICAP MATCHES), Match Types in general ( absolutly a disgrace) DLC wayyyy to Overpriced for the game, NO Create a Woman, Finisher, Arena, Title etc. 25!!! CAW SLOTS, Only about 65-70 Superstars ( barely Legends and Females), some Gamefaces were horrible ( Ambrose, Miz 🤮🤮🤮), good Soundtrack tho 2K16... Much better than 2K15, but the Career Mode got dull quickly ( Same Matches, Promos were really weird), 3:16 Showcase was amazing, return of important Match Types, good soundtrack, DLC was alright 2K17 ... was alright, improved Promos for My Career, but nothing really new, Comeback of Goldberg and Backstage Brawls, but small Backstage Brawl Area, DLC decent and Soundtrack alright 2K18 ... They tried to Free Roam ( like in SVR 2011, but it got too repetetive in Career mode, so I got bored too fast), they improved the Backstage Area and the Promo engine still is bad, FACIAL EXPRESSIONS are horrible ( look at the smile of the GOAT Baron Blade as Producer), Task which I don't understand ( loose on purpose tonight against Superstat X, just... WHY???), good DLC and Soundtrack WWE 2K19... 2nd Best WWE 2K Game so far: A lot of new Match Types and Returning Ones ( Fatal 5 Way Matches, 6 Man Matches with a great Overhaul ( Triple Threat Tornado Tag, Triple Threat Table Tag, Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match and so on), Custom MITB Creations, Big Head Mode, FINALLY IMPROVED STEEL CAGE AND HIAC MATCH TYPES AFTER 15!!! YEARS, Daniel Bryan Showcase Mode, An outstanding My Career Mode with Buzz and Cole Quinn, Great Soundtrack and DLC, Wayyyyy improved Light System and Gameplay, more polished Graphics, new assets for Create an Arena and so on. WWE 2K20... No, just no 🥺🥺🥺. I am just waiting for WWE 2K22 and I have high hopes, because they have 2 years of development time ( yes, I am aware of the C19 problem, but they can still work on the most important aspects... 2 Years is a long time to work from the Scratch and have an entire overhaul

2K14 was actually developed under by Yuke's under publisher THQ while THQ was being bought out by 2K under bankruptcy. 2K just slapped their name on an already finished game this according to former THQ, now Yuke's employee, Bryan Williams, as he stated on the Everything Pro Wrestling Podcast.

I loved how the box art features The Rock on one side and on another side it featured Daniel Bryan.

Other wrestlers that should've been in the game were Bo Dallas (debuted at 2013 Royal Rumble), The Godfather (returned at 2013 Royal Rumble), Jimmy Superfly Snuka (Undertaker's first streak win), Big Boss Man (another one of Undertaker's wins), A-Train, WM 20 Kane, WM 21 Orton, WM 22 Mark Henry, WM 19 Triple H, WM 7 & 8 Undertaker, and WM 19-22 Undertaker

Piper was actually kept as the special referee in Bret's Wrestlemania 10 match with Yokozuna, also Mankind still makes his run-in referee appearance for Wrestlemania 15's match while Mick Foley is otherwise in the roster. A weird situation is Ultimate Warrior being DLC while he's clearly available on-disc in some capacity as he can be played for the Wrestlemania 6 match against Hulk. It sucks the DLC will be unavailable forever but you can still make the NWO if you'd like a Universe Mode faction with Hollywood Hogan leading Mania 16/2000 Big Show, Mania 12 Diesel, Mania 10 Razor, and Mania 8 Macho Man.

it feels really weird how the 30 years old WM is like missing a lot of important things, like WM 20 eddie guerrero vs kurt angle match

I think they made the Yokuzana match a trophy because of it being the end of the Hogan era and the beginning of the new generation era

Another Easter egg the Arena in the game thats the old Kiel Auditorium in st.louis Extreme Rules pay-per-view was in St Louis around that time me and my cousin went and had a good time

I'm almost 100% positive the game did have the names of both Sid and Gonzalez in the Streak list when I played it back when it was new (and even after that, since I played this game for very long). It might have been patched out later due to the possible copyright issues mentioned.

Another fact, from someone who didn't buy any dlc for the game. If u create the nWo using Hollywood, Diesel and Razor, even with the stable name set to "New World Order", the announcer will still call them by the default name of "The Agents".

in relation to GG Vs taker at wrestlemaina 9 u said they did not use him coz he was not under a legends contract but that as not stopped wrestlers appearing in the game b4 or after for example virgil sting warrior and Goldberg was not under contract with wwe when they 1st got in the game in wwe2k games and the later 3 contracts would come later with the wwe. so 2k do hav the power to sign former stars to 2k exclusive contracts (with the wwe's blessing of course) so GG Being left out was either due to licensing or a problem with wwe, as for sid it could hav been a payment issues, iam sure he's on twitter and you could hav tried to reach out to him and see if he replied.

Unfortunatly, The DLC For Smackdown VS Raw 2008 to 2K17 is gone for good.(Well, not for 17 but i'll get to that in a minute) The in-game store for these games got taken down years ago, I was lucky to get DLC for '12 right before it's store got taken down. The only way to include the DLC now would be to get the files off of someone and then hack the game, which takes an absolute crapload of time. In regards to 2K17, the last I checked, a few DLC's were still avalible for the PC version on the Steam Store. In regards to PS3, I have no clue, *IF* and that is a very big IF, someone owns it and can check for me, and finds that the in-game store for PS3 is still active. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know ASAP so I can get a copy, I own 2K14 for Xbox 360, I have a few DLC's, but not all, and... a completely BROKEN Virgil. He doesn't work at all, he can be used as a manager, likely for Million Dollar Man, and I think he works in Special Referee as well. But try attacking with him in ANY mode, as a player or a CPU, and he'll just keep falling on his ass anytime you hit a button, again, this is from a Xbox 360 point of view, this may be different on PS3.

There was 3 people that you can't play as but was in the victim that was big boss man, jack the snake robbers,and Jimmy fly.
