Of course, we all believe your words because there are millions of people (at least they're several millions in Japan alone, not counting new international fans who knew nothing about baseball beforehand till they encountered Ohtani, like me). And there are also many people who stopped watching baseball for years and started watching MLB only for Ohtani from last year. And there are also so many MLB fans of other teams started watching Angels games or, at least the Ohtani KZread videos, because they couldn't help not loving Shohei 🦄 even they dislike Angels😁!
I'm a Phillies fan, but Shohei Ohtani is my favorite player right now. It is shocking to me that a starting pitcher hit 46 HR, had 100 RBI, and stole 26 bases last year. And that was just the hitting end. With his pitching, he went 9-2 with a 3.18 ERA, striking out 156 while only walking 44. He can throw 100+ mph. It's insane. Watching him (via highlights) get 8 RBI in one game just blew my mind. I haven't seen that many since Jayson Werth did it with the Phillies. 8 RBI for Shohei, but the Angels still lost 😳😳😳😳🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️Edit: Whoa, 1,000 likes. I'm very humbled. Thanks, everyone! 😊

Insane. For him to bat & pitch at a high level is simply hard to comprehend. Just wish everytime he pitches that he can get run support. In 13 starts he's 5-2 when he should've been at least 9-2. Leads the Angels in pitching in Strikeouts, Innings Pitched, ERA, & WHIP while as a hitter he leads his squad in hits, RBIs, HRs, SBs, total bases & Triples & is amongst the. Simply a once in a lifetime talent. Angels will have to fork over massive money if they want to retain him.

Look up 1916-17 Babe Ruth. That will convince you otherwise. 330 Innings pitched in 1916 and ZERO home runs allowed. Even for the deadball era, that was a first. He was the first known pitcher to not give up even 1 HR, not even 1 inside the park HR in those old huge ball parks like the Polo Grounds. That is unheard of. 1.7 ERA and 9 Shutouts. Led the league in ERA, ERA+, and only gave up 6 hits per 9 IP.

@@paysonfox88 Impressive, indeed. However, I think he was only being a pitcher at that time. Except one season when he was mediocre as both until they made him only a full-time hitter. The best way to describe Ruth is that he was a great pitcher who later became a great hitter. Shohei is playing at considerably high level as both simultaneously. I think because simply he is in better shape. If you look at Ruth, he didn't look that way. He didn't have the kind of athletic prowess to be versatile like having the speed to steal bases. Much less have the stamina to do all that in the same season.

Ohtani has changed the game for me. I grew up playing baseball every damn day. Lived it and loved it. Then after the strikes and lockouts I gave up. I mean really, a bunch of millionaires running around playing a freakin' game arguing about a few bucks while holding their fans hostage? It was just too much to take, since ballplayers were convinced they were royalty, and I was thinking don't confuse your worth with a plumber, teacher, fireman, cop or carpenter. You're royalty in your own mind, really not needed in everyday life, and with the strikes and lockouts they proved that to the public, and the game suffered. But then a rare and humble talent comes along and turns your head back to your favorite game, and it's joyous once again. All hail Ohtani.
He was due for a big game 🔥
Ohtani doing all The work to get this team back on track and they still Can’t rally around him. Such a shame.

Astounding! Stupendous! The Greatest Sho on Earth! 🌎⚾️
Just wish it could have been for a win. Insane that a player hits two jacks and 8 RBIs, but his team still loses.
I like the personality. Just stop and stare at that thing for a moment 😤
Shohei made direct comments to Japanese media that the situation was difficult and he regretted not able to make two proper hits or home runs instead of two sacrificed flies. More RBIs would be gained if he had extra HRs or even doubles, but not sacrificed flies, and Shohei felt sorry and thought he should improve from this experience in the future. The player, who gained 8RBIs (his career high) for his team single-handed, said he was sorry of not making enough RBIs for winning the game! I am wondering WHAT THE ANGELS PITCHERS WHO LOST ALL THOSE RUNS SHOULD SAY ABOUT THIS GAME'S LOST? I think 🤔 Ohtani is probably planning to pitch till the end of 9th inning and trying to give himself at least 2 or 3 home runs and several RBIs' hits tomorrow like Shohei's 4th winning game! Shohei knows that doing everything by himself is the only way to win the games for Angels!
