8 Railroad Diamonds & 10 Trains! Train With Caboose & New Railroad Cars! Looking Down On Trains!!
Ойын-сауық
All Kinds Of Trains Slamming 8 Diamonds Seen From Above! Fast Trains Hit The Railroad Crossings And Pound The Railroad Diamonds! Model Trains, CSX freight trains & Norfolk Southern trains in Marion, Ohio. They let @1960gambit and me into the railroad tower to get the best view possible of the trains passing the train station and diamonds of Marion. The model train building was also opened for us. One of the best catches was the train with caboose and brand new unpainted tank cars. They were doing some railroad switching nearby and used the caboose for long reverse moves. A couple of CSX main lines and a Norfolk Southern main line come together right by the train station. This is one of Ohio's best Railfan locations. I rode up here with Scott, @1960gambit. The old New York Central Railroad bay window caboose was a great catch and I have filmed it a couple of times before. If you know of a caboose that is still in use on a daily basis leave a comment below. I am always looks for cabooses. The continuous welded rail train was also one of my favourites.
Union Station also has a caboose on display behind the tower. The tower was originally on the other side of the tracks from the station and it had another level to it. It was moved across the tracks for the train museum and lowered by one level. This is video that I had not posted yet and I am posting it now just for some variation in my videos.
Thanks for watching! If you have time, please watch another video of mine to help keep my channel going. Every view helps support my channel. Viewing time helps pay for gas, motels, rental cars etc. I have a list of places that I plan on filming so watch another video of mine if you have the time.

Nice
The last train sure was smooth and quiet, also looked brand new , new engine and new tank cars , very nice!
LOVE the rhythm of those long articulated container cars crossing the double diamonds! Also that long string of tankers later in the video! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Always love a diamond video!
Well that's a great place to watch trains two diamonds right there by the tracks a tower boy you find the best places keep them coming got to love them diamonds
This is music to my ears. The first train had many containers from European shipping companies on board. MSC thats mediterainian shipping company from Italia, Maersk is from denmark and Hamburg Süd is from Germany. Very nice that you have captured the "spaghetti" train from above. The local from the NS was also fully suitable for the model railway with its 4 cars. Very nice that also took the local with the caboose with you. Without caboose there is something missing in your freight trains. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven

That’s a busy place. 👍 Very nice HO(?) scale layout!
Awesome catches
I love hearing the train go over the diamond. Music to my ears. Marion is a very busy place. Lots of live action. Have a nice day
Don't see that every day, in fact I think it might be about the second time watching a train on a diamond. Cheers from down under.
Ahh to be back there in the 1950’s when I was a school kid. NYC (Big Four), Erie and then EL, C&O,and the P Company. Passenger trains galore! My Dad had switch keys for all those RR’s.
That place really is a railfan gold mine. They keep on coming!
Non-Stop action in Marion! You have the best of both worlds there with CSX and Norfolk & Southern crossing each other's tracks with those diamonds! I love these wall-to-wall train videos with constant action! Awesome rail fanning location too! Marion is the place to get great train footage!

Another bunch of articulated cars. Neat. Are those rails on the flatbeds?!? The saddest sounding crossing bells......ever. Can't recall ever seeing unpainted tank cars before.
Nice!
There's really a lot going on in this video. Plenty of interesting railroad action. Thanks, JT!
Marion has to be my favorite railfan hotspot. So much nonstop action it’s paradise, and listening to these big trains pounding the diamonds is sweet music to my ears, absolutely love it. And the train variety is just awesome. CSX & NS put on quite a awesome show in Marion. Thanks for sharing the experience JT, u the man!!!👍🏼🚂oh and absolutely loved the old CR caboose, really miss “Big Blue “.
Watching from England. Can’t get enough of this. It’s Awesome. 😂
So cool! You can hear the different sounds of the articulated intermodal cars vs. the coupled cars.
That place looks like a fantastic place to spend the day. The unpainted tank car train was cool. I was thinking about how smooth it was going along, then came along a square wheels caboose. Totally enjoyed the video
Hey Jaw love this spot keep up the great work on the vids
When those intermodal trains hit their destination, if each container gets taken away by a truck it must be incredibly busy there.
One of your best videos JT, thank you for posting.
Marion train watching never let's me down . I'm grateful to be located close to a great area for railfanning .I absoutley love the train station there . I'm into ho scale trains as well and the train shows they have there is always a favorite of mine .There is also a model railroad club there which is really cool
I love the rhythm of those diamonds!
Would be neat to see a train waiting for another at the crossing, great video keep up the good work God bless from GA stay safe
The pounding those diamonds must take would be incredible. The engineering that goes into them is amazing to hold up to all that, nonstop, without failures...
Enjoyable watch. A few snickers bars in my pocket and I'd be there all day...
I love that elevated view from the signal box. Another great video, thanks JT👍
An amazing sight, the horse and bath!
Great 👍 👌 nice 👌 to start the weekend like this the Dimonds pretty great place 2 see the trains 🚆 😀 👍 👌 nice caboose

Great video! That town is hopping! And I love that the town invested in an observation tower for rail fans - wish we had one where I live. Thanks JT!
You trying to break a record of most trains in a video? Lol. That was slot of trains. Very awesome video. Great work
Wow, a lot of trains! I love hearing the clicks of the diamond tracks as the trains pass, like a rhythm track. Loved seeing the horse take a dip in the lake. Really great video. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Your videos never disappoint. Always some good live action. Living in Northern Michigan where trains are not common I can't get my daily dose of trains. Thank you JT.

Why don't you the people that put on the video count the train cars and compare them with other trains
Rail Classics magazine featured an article on Marion Ohio many years ago ( 1979 ) with an excellent article by railfan and contributing editor John Uckley titled.........." The Haunted City " with many fallen flag photos by Uckley of ConRail predecessors. Ex-Erie Lackawanna A.C. tower was still manned at that point.
They say that Diamonds are a railfan's best friend and so are Cabooses ... Thx Son ...
I wonder if they are old Bethlehem Steel Frog and Switch crossings from Steelton Pa.Frog and Switch division was from 1872 till 1992 when it closed.Cool video. That tower makes for some nice filming. Thumbs up on the video.,

The way that station is situated at the intersection of three rail lines, there was probably a time when you could catch a train there that would take you almost anywhere in the country.

In the past, I have visited Marion, Ohio twice! It is a very cool train town. But, I was wanting to mention about another big train town that you might want to check out sometime. It is Rochelle, Illinois, which is in the north central part of the state. I’ve been up there a few times. Always well worth the visit!🤠🚂
Nice model railroading layout, thanks for showing us.
By the smoke coming from that sigle engined train, I see you finally remembered your "notch 8" sign.
Marion is a cool place for train watching. Thumbs up!

I can remember taking photos in the 1960s from the tower when there were four railroads going by (EL/NYC/C&O/PRR(N&W)).
What a great location for railfanning
Enjoy the videos! Personally, I like the mixed freight/manifest/local trains better than the long haul unit trains.

Love the sound of those diamonds 😍
I was in Rochelle ILL. last weekend, who says diamonds are just a GIRL's best friend ;). A rail train, cool! That looks like an excellent restoration of the depot and tower, wish it could have been done at Deshler. That looks like a nasty ouch in the rail. Those diamonds really need to be re-tamped and levelled. Phenomenal action and the model R.R. layout was a bonus, thanks!

Those tank cars looked like they were headed to the paint shop a minute mark 28:19. No Keystone XL, then the railroad gets the business.
Back in the 50s, 60s and early 70s my dad worked for the Columbia Gas of Ohio. His repair area included parts of Marion so if I was riding with him a short stop at the depot and the diamonds. Industry was still booming with businesses such as Marion Power Shovel. It seemed like there were miles of gritty industrial buildings. We moved away to Florida in 73 and in there the Dayton branch of the Erie Lackawanna closed and removed. I often wonder if that line would have stayed had the Honda plant had been finished. Oh well, good memories anyway. Cheers Terry
It would be really cool if there was a train meet at the diamonds

Very cool. I like the level crossing boom gates with a dedicated small arm for the pedestrian footpath.
The caboose wanted to make sure it got everyone's attention as it went by with a flat tire.
Went to Marion last week for 5 and a half hours and only saw 6 trains. It was the slowest I`ve ever seen there in all the times I`ve been there.
You need one of those rail road hats that the engineers always wore.
