just a little tip for o-goshi and seoi: stand with your feet parallel to each other and tiptoe. for the osoto-gari: the tip of your toe should slightly touch the ground when you sweep; you're standing diagonally to the "opponent", that causes your thigh to touch his leg, which shouldn't happen (not like that); try to stand in front of him, take a step to his side and sweep only with your calf and foot. hope that helps you out and sorry if it's annoying.

Some good techniques there. Bit of polite advice, although your de ashi bari is effective on your dummy it appears to be more like a prop as you aren’t sweeping and appear to be lifting. De Ashi Barai is “Sweeping the advancing foot” in English, difficult to do on a dummy with square feet. I would suggest that your technique was more okuri ashi barai or perhaps a Sasae tsuri Komi ashi. Whichever it is however it was a well executed technique. Nicely done!

Good job sensei oss🥋 I'm a kumite player also a muay thai practitioner and I have a background on judo I have taken a lot of judo throws I can tell the difference between judo throws and karate throws I've taken some judo throws such as Ogoshi IPONN saie nage Tai ochi Kochi gari It's good to be able to deal with a different situations in the street or in self defense Like if I'm in a corner I would fight with muay thai If I am grabbed from my clothes so hard and I cant get rid of it I would fight with judo If my enemie was standing in a very long range I would use kumite to punch him and then I can sweep his leg or kicking him with a ko mawashi geri I love your content because your putting a lot of effort in your channel also you have a huge background in other martial arts besides karate My question is how many Dan's do you have in karate and what martial arts do you know besides karate Oss🥋🥋🥋

I just got one of these which claims to be 45kg but it's WAY TOO HEAVY! I can barely pick it up let alone throw it. Do you have a specific technique to pick it up. Most people don't realize that dead weight is so hard to pick up.

Hi bro, so I usually store it up against a wall in the garage to save space. So from there I always have to pick it up and carry it to my backyard. This is how I do it. 1. Place my back against the front side of the dummy, and position it’s arms over my shoulders. 2. You might have to lower yourself to get into this position 3. Grab the arms and hoist it on your back, like you are piggy backing it. 4. Note, you will not be able to walk upright with this on your back, it will make you fall back. 5. You need to maintain a steady lean forward to counter balance the load on your back. 6. Walk slowly to your destination, be wary of any kitchenware, household decorations or picture frames. 7. Get to your destination and let it fall on the mats or lean up against the wall. Hey I felt the same way as you when I first got it, but overtime you learn how to maneuver it. Just be consistent and patient with yourself.

Did this dummy rip in half on you yet? I have had three of them rip in half on me now from training throws. Always 4-5 months in. I try reinforcing them with tape and ties. Can’t avoid it. They just can’t hold up to the torque. I always used the 120 pound ones though. Anyway it’s nice to see someone else hitting throws on them. That Tai Otoshi is not easy on the heavier ones.

@@SENSEIJASON I tried century yah. I think it was the weight though. The extra 30+ pounds of dead weight was too much for the stitching. It was probably overkill. I’ll drop the weight if I get another one. Loved training with them.

I’m sure the training it it gave you was very valuable. And at the end of the day, we are supposed to smash the dummies. They served their purpose, but unfortunately it can be costly to replace. Yes I think 90lbs is the sweet spot for the next purchase.
