Hi everyone, Today we are going to talk about the NASA's Voyager 1. Voyager 1 Suddenly Received An ALARMING REPLY From a Nearby Star.
Voyager 1 was designed to explore the outer planets of our solar system, providing us with breathtaking images, and invaluable data about Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. After completing its primary mission, it continued its journey, becoming the farthest human-made object from Earth. Even though Voyager 1 is currently over 15 billion miles away, its influence on our understanding of the universe is immense.
As of 2023, the Voyagers are still in operation beyond the outer boundary of the heliosphere in interstellar space. They collect and transmit useful data to Earth. Recently, scientists at Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory made an astonishing discovery. They reported that Voyager 1 had detected a sequence of radio signals that resemble intelligible communication.
According to scientists, The signals are thought to be the result of an unknown star in our galaxy, responding to a message we sent out 25 years ago.

To receive a reply to a signal sent from earth 25 years ago the replying star would need to be closer than 12.5 light years away (12.5 years for the signal to get there and 12.5 years for us to receive their reply back.) There are only a few dozen stars that close to us so it is unlikely to be a "real" reply.

Google says there are 28 stars, and 17 of them are red dwarfs - but I have read that red dwarfs are seen by many as being the possible harbingers of intelligent life, because they haven't done anything dramatic during the time it takes for intelligent beings to evolve. Of course, we haven't seen any yet. We may be the only one - unlikely, but who knows?! I do tend to agree with you - "it is unlikely to be a 'real' reply".

Our message hasn't even left our backyard so to speak Let alone made it to another Solar System somewhere. If voyager did pick something up it was broadcast years and Years ago. Long before life was around on this planet.
