    As a cook this is one of the best videos out there - no nonsense, no absurd items nobody uses. Every single one of these (I would add the Mango corer) are well worth the money.

    OMG...I finally found this video again! I bought the butter grater from watching this video when it first launched but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to get the gadget to work (even asked to 3 people) so it just sat there on top of my fridge for EXACTLY 15 months! lol Thank you for all you do! Warm hello from France! ♥

  • @petrinax2944

    1. Use that money you bought on the butter grater to instead but a container for your butter and leave it at room temp or buy spreadable butter. 2. colanders aren't just for pasta you can use them to wash and dry vegetables, or rinse canned goods. 3 you CAN eat the skin if it bothers you that much use a spoon, this gadget only works for kiwis. 4 not actually a bad idea but you probably don't need it for your whole coffee beans and the difference it makes is not a lot unless it is something that oxidizes fast like potatoes or avocado in which case put potatoes in water and the avocado in plastic wrap. 5. just cut the pineapple its not hard, the gadget doesn't get all the flesh and it only works for pineapples. 6. Glorified plastic wrap 7. cut off the top of the tomato and if you are concerned about wasting food eat the part around it. (you could use this for strawberries which is cool but you can also cut the tops off of those and eat around them, or just remove the leaves) 8. use a muffin tin it will give you infinite edges (lol) This was not meant to insult any of the products or be mean i'm simply giving information on how you can do these things without an insane amount of gadgets that will clutter up your kitchen. (except for #6 its cute but really? plastic wrap)

    I think 4. is actually a bad idea. He said 'vacuum' but air stuck in bottle is not vacuum. The bottle already has enough air to oxidize until you open it tomorrow and fill it up with fresh air again.

    Plastic wraps are horrible for the environment. Those “glorified” ones in the video are reusable which is so much better money-wise and environmental-wise. I think they are great for if you want to cover a bowl or something but those Tupperwares already have lids. The rest are useless tho.

  • @petrinax2944

    @petrinax2944

    5 жыл бұрын

    Right, what I meant by that is that if you really just cant find the lid then it is acceptable to use plastic wrap, you don't have to go out of your way to buy some weird squishy silicone thing that if we are being honest is just as susceptible to losing as the lids to the Tupperware. also I don't think it would be efficient on bowls either, plus you have to wash them and if you are really concerned about the environment Tupperware bowls are cheaper and do the same thing. Oh and one more thing 4:18 should be a meme.

  • @WeiYinChan

    @WeiYinChan

    5 жыл бұрын

    petri nax umm the purpose is to have these and completely stop buying plastic wrap... because again, thy are literally the worst and are so unnecessary, so you would already have those and no plastic wrap at home and don’t have to “go out of your way” to do anything. Yes it’s efficient on bowls... “I don’t think it’s efficient...” well they are so I don’t know what you are talking about. And Tupperware is still plastic, admit not single use one. It’s better to have these to use with whatever ceramic bowls or glass container I already have and not buy any plastic stuff all together. And really these are so much more space efficient than buying like million Tupperwares that would clutter your drawer

    I use the sharp tip of a standard peeler to core my tomatoes. Works perfectly well, no need for a mono-use gadget. A grapefruit spoon is perfect for kiwis. That colander is only good for cooking pasta - what about straining salad greens? Again, mono-use no good. Keep an organized kitchen and you won't have to spend extra money on lids. And lastly, I never really got the enthusiasm for brownie edges, myself. Don't much care for burnt edges on my cake.

    Ah , its time for my nitpicking abilities to shine. 1) Butter too hard? why is it in the freezer in the first place? Also a butter knife is already enough to cut out the surface of the butter. And at the price point of 30$ you might as well buy an actual shredder for lower prices (maybe could be used on cheese instead) 2) A hand sieve is way better , unless you're too lazy to put the contents back in for later stages of cooking I guess....? 3) Use a freaking spoon 4) Actually useful, no complaints here 5) No complaints here 6) Kinda useful for when you lost the top on accident. On a side note, always put the top back on, its not that hard. Or just arrange them properly and not dump them in one spot 7) Only useful to people who cuts stuff like tomatoes in large quantities and or like to maintain the shape of the fruit 8) Only reason to buy it is when you don't like waiting for whatever you are cooking (more surface area = faster cooking), if there's already a functioning baking pan just use it unless the shape fancies your liking.

    GamingJar the problem with your comment on #6 is that putting the lids back on will just take up a hell of a lot more space because you can no longer stack the containers inside of each other. You'd need at least three of those bins he had lids in to contain half of the containers he has lids for.

  • @inoob26

    well I guess the chef guy person dude of this channel should organize his containers better then XD Also in my opinion I'd rather seal the container as risk losing space because I'd rather not allow any chances for any small critters that happen to be in there to step all over the containers

    Some of these are really useful despite some people thinking otherwise. I’ve always wanted the half colander because it’s less surface to wash (saves water) and can be used on all pans. Also saves space and time. Like the silicon lids as again save space. The butter grater is good as butter is too hard when kept in the fridge and if not it might get contaminated. Don’t like that. Pineapple corer has been established as very useful. Would also use the strawberry corer as it’s kinda fun.

    Watching this, I am so happy our butter is soft when we buy it. I guess where I'm from we just eat too many sandwhiches to deal with hard butter, hard butter is generally used for baking, not for your toast

    We eat Kiwi with the skin it is like eating a peach, and I like my old Pampered Chef tomato corer, pineapple wedger, and brownie pan. I have that new style strainer and I hate it. Burned my hands trying to get it on the hot pan. However I would like to try that brownie pan and those lids.

    Hold up, people actually core strawberries? I understand not wanting to eat the leaves but why cut off most of the strawberry. All you have to do is grab the leaves, twist and pull.

    The whole point to a colander is to get the pasta out of the pan you are going to continue to use an more importantly to rinse it off with cold water to halt the cooking process. The colander seems nice, but I don't know if would actually replace a regular one.

    One Thing about the tomato corer. I bought one and fell in love with it. But later i realized theres a faster way. If you cut the tomato in half so that the core stays as a whole you can remove it with 2 cuts... (3 with cutting the tomato in half). I think its faster you dont need to change "Tools".
