8 Ideas for IMPROVING a Bandsaw
If you have similar or smaller machines bought from a harbor freight or home depot, then you can easily improve your machines
A band saw is a great tool, but to be able to use it with more pleasure I decided to improve it.
I have been collecting ideas for improvement for a long time. The most important for me was to raise the machine, add rotary wheels and extend the vice. From the moment I bought it, I knew that I would have to take care of it, but I also knew that over time there would be more problems that I would have to solve, so I delayed it almost a year.
Now the band saw meets all my expectations and I think I will be very happy with these improvements.
I made the base from 2 mm sheet. This is sufficient thickness.
The wheels are 10 cm / 2.5 in diameter and each can withstand a weight of 80 kg, together 240 kg, so there is some reserve.
I bought the lamp online. It was expensive but gives very good and bright light. Thanks to 24V connection it is safe for my health and life.
If you need more information, write a question in the comment, I will try to write back.

What a great set of mods. I'm going to get started on mine. I've had all of those problems: clamping short stock, vice extension for longer stock, tiny vice for tiny parts, turning it into a quick vertical saw. What a great list. Thank-you!!
Not only the lathe can reproduce itself, the band saw is even close to it! :-) Great mod on the saw vice, didn´t expect that a simple addition of a threaded rod could improve that clamping so much! Thx for the vid! :-D

Still cant understand the wisdom behind how that rod helps... :((
@Anthsv8

@@kaieteurcanada the vice only grips on one side of the vice because the piece of steel is too short to reach the pivot point of the vice jaw. The threaded rod acts like a longer piece of steel against the fixed jaw holding pressure against the shot piece of steel to be cut
Oglądać ludzi z taką pomysłowością i talentem motywuje i cieszy . Dziękuję za to
Damn, you're good. I put up with these shortcomings for years.
That is a whole new level of awesome - you built a monster out of a normal bandsaw. Respect, man!
Jesteś mistrzem, dobrze że jesteś wraz ze swoim pomysłami.
Superb, as always. Looking forward to the next one.
Excellent video. Wonderful engineering skills on display. The drill turning anti-clockwise is an optical illusion... Well done sir. 👍👍
With great thinking and affordable materials you transformed this basic band saw into a Cadillac versatile machine! Great job ! The power of imagination and necessity are mothers of all creativities and inventions
Some very clever ideas here, I like the offside small vice idea! Working on it tomorrow. Big saws can cut small things, small saws cant cut big things... I have a big saw, now I can cut small things. Go Polska.!
Once again your not just the metal master your a master of proper tool design. I love your videos because they give me ideas on how to improve my equipment and skills. Thank You once again and please keep up the great work your doing with these videos.
Very well thought out, Nice! I like how the improvements were used as mods went along. Peace
I especially liked the small auxiliary vise, very clever!
I love the fact that each mod you make gets used in subsequent mods, or tools. Well done!
Rewelacja, czekam na kolejne filmy. Z przyjemnością oglądam każdy odcinek. Pozdrawiam
Niektóre rowiazania juz posiadam ale doposaże sie jeszcze w niektore twoje pomysły bo są mega pomocne :) Pozdrawiam :)

incredible ideas, thank you very much for sharing them
Brilliant improvements to the saw.
Great video, and some very nice improvements! I have the smaller 4x6 version (without coolant) and have made some improvements to mine also, to make it better and more accurate. Now you've given me a few more ways to improve it. Thank you.
I am amazed by the things and solutions found - just amazed every video.....
Really a great way to mod the bandsaw... Thanks for doing it on camera... Nice job!!
You are truly a man with many talents, the roller table and the little vise additions are ingenious and everything you make turns out looking very nice too.
I really like all of your other tools too - the plasma cutter, the vise-bender. I'm very jealous!
Man, I totally did that with my Harbor Freight model. Made a roll around base with the swivel wheels that come on HF engine hoist, so it was raised up to a comfortable height and rolled around on sturdy wheels. But I also had to square up the lower blade guide surface where the table mounts in the Vert. position. Yes, adjusting the vise/clamp is necessary as well.
You make me so glad I watch every one of your videos. You really should consider an assortment of Oetiker crimp hose clamps; we used to use the old screw hose clamps and needed to upgrade for higher pressure and plastic barbs. When we got the clamps and a tool we were amazed how much better it's been.
Kopara opada. Uwielbiam takie demonstracje. Wszystko jasne, bez słowa. Ogląda się te filmy z zapartym tchem:):):)
have the same bandsaw for 8 years and im still changing the way it works good content

A very well thought out presentation that addresses some machinery design deficiencies.
I’m dig’n that press brake/ vise tool!
Great hacks, the band saw is much more usable and versatile now. 👍👍👍
bardzo fachowo to wygląda ! Pełen szacunek.

Excellent, I was planning to make same mods to my bandsaw next week. Raising it up and adding rollers, but to both sides.
Very handy mods , I will probably do some of these on my saw , nicely done
Excellent. When buying these new generation cheap but fit for propose machines there is always the finer details missing or things not as we would like. What you are showing us here is ..."do something about it". What you have inspired me to do is get in and solve/do something about it on my lathe and mill. The next thing I guess is make a video of some of these mods I have made. Now that is quite a "next step" Thank you again from down under.
Made in Poland est un artiste plein d'idées !!!! Un plaisir à regarder ! Made in Poland is an artist full of ideas !!!! A pleasure to watch ! Made in Poland to artysta pełen pomysłów !!!! Przyjemność oglądania !
That small table is just ingenious! Now I gotta make one for my saw...
Young Man I have to let you know how impressed I am with your skills at such a young age awesome awesome amazing project that will make everything in front of this project go so much easier and quicker but more important than all of those things they will be more dialed in thumbs up my friend great build
Always inspired be you. Thanks so much. I have a smaller cutter. I put a neodymium magnet on each side of blade to catch off cut of pieces. Keep losing them. Til next time.

great trick with the small vice, im gonna do it tommorow!!!!
Excellent work, very intelligent and skillful. Thanks for sharing and best regards from the UK.
Hi, I really like your video, especially the vice jack mod! I will definitely do the same to my band saw as I have exactly the same problem with the one jaw turning. Thanks very much.
Friggin deadly man 😃! Especially love the support jack for cutting short stuff. Great video 👍😁👍.

Genius. Your fabrication skills are top notch.
I have a very similar saw. Your ideas withe the vice are great. Thanks for sharing them!
Как всегда, прекрасная работа!
Great great channel! You reinvented this machine, greetings from Lviv!
Well done show off.. now you make me ant to go and get one of those saws just to modify it.. outstanding.. carry on!
nice little tips..love the tiny vise idea...have been needing something like that for my saw :)
Awesome modifications. We bought a used 7x12 horizontal band saw. It had flimsy sheet metal legs, one of which got bent when we were loading it. We made some 10 ga legs which held it up higher and put locking casters under it. Made it much better and more portable. I will have to look to see if I can put a bigger guard on it to have a bigger table if we use it as a vertical band saw.
I consider these mods to be absolutely necessary. I will start on mine soon. Thanks for sharing and take care.
WOW, great ideas ! They are now all on my To-Do list 😊
You are a legend, thanks for the good ideas’ 👌
Just what I was looking for that small clamp for small pieces! You are an inspiration my friend thank you
Great choice of glasses Darek. I have wide lenses aswell and my eyes have been saved by them many times working with metal .
Taking something that is running good and make it perfect! Respect! Some warm greetings from Germany
Thank you for the great solutions (much BETTER than ideas!) to these annoying problems. Getting to work now on mine.
Под каким-то из Ваших видео я говорил что у Вас золотые руки.Повторюсь еще раз - Золотые руки!!!
Great fabrication skills, very impressed
Widząc ciebie ciesze się że jestem Polakiem. Dziekuje ci za to.
Молодец!!! Почти все переделал за производителя. С удовольствием смотрю канал. Спасибо.
Great video. I had one of those saws once. I was thinking about getting another one. A few upgrades like this and it would be a great saw.
Great work! Among the best content on KZread.
You´re an phenomenon! Good Job! Greetings from Germany
Gave me some ideas for my bandsaw. Thanks!
One of my Top 5 Favorite makers on the YuT00bs! 1. Jimmy Diresta 2. Alec Steele 3. Made in Poland 4. My Mechanics 5. Habu Clickspring or Pablo Cimadevilla too I like them both. They don't have new videos often enough though. There are MANY more!

Well done.
That's the first time I've ever seen a drill & tap combo bit. That seems pretty clever. It must save a lot of time, assuming you only use bolts with the same thread pitch.
Great ideas and great workmanship Thank you
These little tricks like the one with the ball bearings are really helpful. Could you maybe make a video where you show a few more of such tricks?
Wieder einmal super Arbeit und tolle Ideen! Glückwunsch
I have absolutley the same "stiler". Made in poland. 2 years of work without Any problems. Good machine.
Impressive! I thought making into a bandsaw and not only a cut off saw was about all that was left to do for improvements. Of course, last but not least! Man, I can't thinking of anything else other than some sort of DIY home made blade welder maybe? That's about all I have left on my mind. Thanks for sharing!
So many great improvements, well done!
very ingenious! well done ! thanks for sharing !
Thanks for sharing the awesome ideas!
Very good video, today I bought a saw without, I plan to make several of these great ideas
I like the "table" mod the best, converting this into a proper standing bandsaw.
Another great job! Now it's a better saw.
What a really great job ! ... You're really a creative engineer ... I'm following you from Libya, keep going, Bro ...
No no to teraz piwko po świetnej robocie😀💪💪
Think I would have bought a new bandsaw me like 😂🤣. No brilliant way to upgrade your workstations you can tell you have put a lot of thought into it well done bud. I’ve subscribed and left a like too.
All very good ! Thanks for sharing !
Good ideas, it really should have come with some of them as standard.
Esto es llevar la genialidad a otro nivel... FELICITACIONES
Well done, sir!
Very good my friend !!! Greetings from Brazil
Hi Darek. The Proxxon vise idea is perfect. I will use it. Thank You ;-)
OMG ... Awesome ... Plus >> the vice as a sheet bender
Thank you very much. You just sold me on this saw.
It's great to see how easily you improve your equipment :O
The shares are wonderful 😯
Another great video. Off to the work shop I go!!
Nice! Especially the small vise to cut short pieces!
You have a golden hands and dimond brain!
Excellent, i would copy your ideas, may not be exact but love all the add ons. Thanks
Excellent, merci !! I think i'll do the same on my one.
Maszyna pierwsza klasa, a ją jeszcze usprawniłeś teraz. Super filmik 😁👍👍👍
Very clever, my friend!
