I have visited 4 out of 8 restaurants here. Beauty of BLR (especially in south BLR) is we can see small nice eateries who just have one shop despite making nice food for many, many years. They have few items, make it tasty and good, open and close in time(some as early as 8.30pm), just focus on quality day after day, reasonably priced and so on. SLV coffee bar, opp to BSK BDA is one such shop. It is my favourite restaurant for Chow Chow Bath/Kara bath. Thanks for taking us to all these nice eateries.

Nice to see you cover the popular idli joints in bangalore... Have tried most and will try them all soon.. I request you to visit this idli vada bajji joint diagonally opposite saibaba mandir on sample road .. maybe between 13th and 14th cross... the idling here is among the best I have tasted.. I think it is available after 4 pm.. pl do try it and offer your comments

Thank you very much.😊At most of these places, the price of the idly is between 15 per piece. Only Thatte idly is 30/- per piece. Of course, Rava idly at MTR is around 80/-.

I would appreciate if you also include places where they give idli with sambar and chatni. Ex. SLV hotel in Jayanagar 9th block. , one of the best...so pls dont exclude idli sambar... thanks..

I can confidently say that many morning street vendor idlis will be very good. I have one here in Hosa Road market, near my place. His idli sambar is very tasty - idli not made with rice rava as many hotels do. Almost every area has 2-3 popular street tiffin vendors.

Sarathi Hotel, Chamarajpet is also a good place for delicious idli-vada. Their sambar has a traditional taste and goes excellent with idli-vada.

You can be as honest as you feel . Unlike the Shakespeare Kripal. Keep it honest. Not all places can be top notch. Use yardsticks like hygiene, quality, taste, price as a measurement on a scale of 1 to 5

Thanks very much for the support and feedback. Sure, I will keep your suggestions in mind. My take is, if the food is not good, don't publish the video. Even in this idly episode, I've not included few places, which didn't meet the quality/taste standards. I had the same idea on MTR like you, until this recent visit. Rava Idly and Masala dosa tasted really good at their Lalbagh road branch. I'm not sure about their other items, will visit again and do a full review. Thanks again.

@@foodNfoodonly Appreciate you taking the time to go though my review comments and responding to it. To note post a review of a hotel or dish that doesn’t measure up is a fair approach. But then one will not where the dish stands. MTR over the years has diminished in stature but dishes like a dosa or rava idly stand out. Food vlogging is not easy. To each his own. Like beauty likes in the eyes of the beholder but food is also something that is individualistic and is palate oriented but dishes like our South Indian snacks or North Indian curry items and bread amongst others have an established taste and flavour - is something one can taste and share a perspective. Best wishes to all your future endeavours

Is it? I used some of the brighter notes of Hindustani and Carnatic. As some of these instruments are associated with melancholy, I think it sounded that way :)

This sweet sambar is not native to Bangalore but came from Udupi. Even now, most of the Bangalore households make a non-sweet, spicy sambar only. By the way the Bangalore style sambar dip in a cold weather is unparalleled and once you acquire a taste for it, you’ll cherish it.

It is difficult to compare different types of Idlys like Chiblu, Acre, Rava Idly and Thatte Idly with the regular idlys and pick top two. However, if you ask me the top two from regular idlys, it would be Veena Stores and Bhramins' Coffee Bar. 😊

It's not the same idli boss. Taste & quality are totally different.

Lovely stuff. But my wife's idly and vada preparations beat these fellows. Chutney both coconut and onion are unbeatable at home.

Curious to know the other places that are hygienic and serve good quality idlys for less than 15/- per piece. Can you share the details?

The 'acre' idly of Wilson Garden is not good. Here they don't use the urad daal or very less of it is used & more of rice & yeast is used. Secondly, idly-sambar of NMH is not shown. It is costly though. NMH, MTR & Brahmin's cafe are highly exhorbitant.

I fully agree with Shivaram .vada and iddli is over priced. Twice. For half this price we can get 4 chutneys one sambar and one podi. Bangalore because of this utube ad.plus it people it can run not always. U visit Sabaris Madurai and rhen challenge me.
