You should try "Exo powder" which is just 10 Rs for cleaning kitchen slabs, chimneys, & greasy stains near the window etc. It is available in all malls. It doesn't dissolve it water however, but very effective. Worth a try

I always forget it but we can write w a permanent marker on our opened jars and bottles stored the fridge the date on which we opened them that way we can know and try to finish them within one month or depending on what the instructions on them are.

Your concern is right but this is not a regular polish which is done on furniture. I have clearly mentioned cutting board polish and oil which are specifically made for wooden kitchen utensils and are made of food grade mineral oil. The links are given in the description box. You can always chk.
