SUMMARY:
- Whole oats contain beta-glucan fiber, which is well known for its ability to absorb tons of water, making it swell in your stomach. This then increases the pleasant feeling of being full. In other words, you’ll simply eat way less!
- Considering how many vitamins and minerals brown rice contains, it should be crowned as a superfood in the blink of an eye!
- Some specialists are sure that whole rye has more nutrients per serving than any other whole grain! And there has to be some truth to this.
- Barley is excellent for a perfectly toned figure, and it also lowers your cholesterol levels. Its minerals and nutrients work their magic in no time, making you feel full and giving you all the essential elements your body needs.
- Buckwheat is a true champion as it contains more protein than any other whole grain, topping the list of necessary protein foods for every single one of us - especially if you're a vegetarian.
- If you know at least something about a healthy lifestyle and menu, you know what quinoa is. This grain is high in protein, B-group vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids, making it a real treat for people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance.
- If you want corn to help you get slimmer, make it a rule to eat a whole ear of corn. This will allow your body to receive all the B-group vitamins, magnesium, antioxidants, and phosphorus that it contains.
- Lentils are truly unique, simply because they're rich in protein and fiber while being low in fat and high in slow-digesting carbohydrates.
- Eating white rice may be the reason why you can't lose weight. It's actually a refined carbohydrate that’s very high in calories and low in fiber. And from this point of view, it has hardly any nutrition!
- Just like brown rice, wheat is a superfood - a superfood for gaining weight! The main reason for this title is amylopectin A, an extremely fattening starch.
- Couscous may look like a whole grain at first glance, but it's actually not that different from refined wheat. You won't find any nutrition here, but you will find numerous calories.

@rubyscott6685

1dir it is actually kinda both. Looked it up. Lentils are technically a grain legume because it has a seed like husk rather than a pod as with beans. Grains are seeds, sooo.......they can be both due to the low glycemic index similarly found in beans, botanically speaking, but who cares, they are great to eat.

Oats are great also to reduce bad cholesterol levels. All these foods are great, but the worst enemies of our diet are salt and sugar. Limit the intake and you'll lose weight fast and naturally.

The salt itself isn't necessarily bad as far as weigh gain, it causes temporarily water retention in the body, but excess salt in the body is typically flushed out of the system in 2 to 4 days. The link between salt and obesity found by nutritionists it that obese people tend to eat a lot of salty processed foods such as chips, fast foods, fried foods, and processed starches and grains such as found in bread. Salt itself isn't bad unless you have hypertension.
In my opinion the best is barley, is low glycemic index and I make bread with it putting less that 100 grams in it, the rest nuts, eggs, and cheese.

Good list. I agree with your list of 8 and Its good you did not include crackers or popcorn like you did in the video "9 Night Snacks You Can Eat Without Gaining Weight." I completely agree that lentils are good to consume for good health and potential weight loss, but they are a legume not a grain.
Am eating lentils with some brown rice and cucumbers..😊
I LOVE Quinoa! But I so want to try other sprouted grains like buckwheat and lentils - adding them to salads or green juices. Just sounds yummy!

Hey bright side can you do a video on healthy food too eat to gain weight? it whould help me and other people struggling to gain weight greatly
I would love to see the person talking on brightside 😆😊
I never eat brown rice instead I only eat white rice and yet ai lost 7 stones of weight by running and eating everything in a balanced portion, thats what we need to do, say no to junk food, you want burgers make em at home, just stop eating deep fried food, try and use as less oil as possible, eat nuts and lowfat yogurt, chickpeas, drink plenty of water and excercise regularly, just keep it modrate otherwise you'll get sick of it, just make a habit of healthy eating and living... Best of luck guys
Thank you

Wild rice should be there.
Consuming a ton of white rice 😕 have to switch to brown rice.
I try to eat as much alkaline as I can. Lentils, quinoa and rye my favorites.
Muaah i like it
Quinoa!!
I want to incorporate all of the good grains that you spoke about but I do not know how to prepare them I don't know how to eat them as a meal can you offer recipes?
Oatmeal 👍🏻
Thank u
I already lost a lot of white Now I’m trying to gain weight and eat healthy. Didn’t eat that healthy today since I ate a bowl of chocolate fudge banana icecream.. Smashed 4 oak farm fudge bars and half a banana in a bowl together. Tasted good ,but now I’m freezing. How I lose weight 2500 calories a day Eat healthy
I totally agree with the list. So, corn grits become my substitute for refined rice. The latter has high glycemic index, and I could testify I gained weight because of it.
Couscous isn't a grain. It's Durum Wheat Semolina. You know? That same stuff that is used to make some of the pasta you eat. And Wheat per sae isn't the villain. It's refined Wheat that is. Whole Wheat is a great source of fibre. And it only takes a small amount of it to fill you up. And it's more what you're eating with that Wheat that puts on the pounds/kilograms. If you eat alfredo or rich creamy carbonara sauce with your pasta a lot, yes you'll pack on those pounds. Same principle for what you put in between those bread slices to make a sandwich. But then again there are people out there who have genuine medical conditions that affect their weight. And it doesn't matter the diet or lifestyle change, the weight remains. It's not always the food or type of food. And No. They're Not lazy slobs...... ⚛️

I almost eat couscous,it stays good in everything
Me was about to eat white rice while watching this Me: dam it Also me: gets bread to mop up leftover food Me: dam it Also me: was going to make couscous for the next dinner
I eat granola bars. Made 100% natural whole grain oats coconut 16grams whole grain natural valley , naturals own 100% whole wheat I wonder if this is good 4 me
But what about WHOLE wheat? This video didn't mention whole wheat one way or the other, yet so many whole wheat breads are out there. Was the inclusion of wheat in the second segment (i.e., on grains to avoid) meant to cover whole wheat as well? If so, that should have been mentioned explicitly.
THAT MUSIC GAVE ME A HEADACHE.!!!!
Barley is my favorite grain
As buckwheat is not that commonly heard of or used, it is advisable to eat a little bit of it first to ascertain whether you have an unknown allergy to it. It is a known allergen and it’s always a good bet to consult with your doctor before including it in your daily diet.
