I was among the many scientists who discovered CO2 in WASP 39 b's atmosphere. Those blue model lines you see at 6:40 and 6:22 in all the four panels is our work. I spent the whole summer this year working to produce those blue lines so that we can understand what we see in the JWST data. I feel so proud to be a part of the team because our science results gets featured in one of my favorite youtube channels.

Whole summer to produce a result in the form of an image. Now this just shows how much time you have to put in to even start understanding something o_O Nice job. We just need a couple dozen or hundreds more to have a conclusion :D

I was reading the WASP-39b nature paper you're on (NIRCam 16 sigma H2O detection) in our journal club yesterday, really exciting work! For me, figure 2 really illustrates the leap forward with JWST. Where spitzer gives us 1 data point with huge error bars, JWST gives us 100-200 with an extremely precise wavelength solution. I work on characterising atmospheres with higher-resolution ground-based transmission spectra, but those JWST spectra look really exciting too.

I really love how you don't rush making videos of happenings as soon as they happen. It results in high quality videos packed with so much content.
Man, if I ever visit Australia I need to meet you and shake your hand. You've been somewhat of a campus of interests in my growth. I appreciate that. I'm excited for JWTs discoveries.

Thank you, Dagogo! This is, by far, my favorite of all your videos. Your explanation of the JWST is so concise, clear and well worded that almost anyone could understand how it works and what good it does.
Great production Dagogo, unique style and really quite relaxing and enjoyable, Thank You for your considerable energy in creating and researching your subjects and sharing them. Our view of the limits of space and how stars are formed and the unbelievable vastness of the cosmos has completely changed our perception in the short time that humans have looked up to the sky. I would liked Carl Sagan to have seen these advances and given his view.
Best $10B ever spent by humanity! I've waited my entire life for these images, looking at textbooks as a kid with blury photos of our own planets, to seeing the pillars of creation in all the definition you could ask for, it leaves me in pure awe

Yeah. Don't spend it on research for creating better crops so the countries in Africa don't live in perpetual starvation. Don't invest in recycling water so droughts don't destroy entire swaths of populations. Let's spend 10 billion dollars on a camera. To take picture of things long since gone and don't matter. Amazing fiscal responsibility.

ColdFusionTV should be at least an weekly news show, broadcasted by the best TV networks - I know I wouldn't miss an episode. Congratulations, man, you deliver top quality content without ever resorting to any infuriating clickbait tricks some astronomy channels abuse (promising some huge breakthrough "in the understanding of the universe" just to cheat the audience for the entire length of the video and delivering almost nothing worth watching). 👏👏👏
I really appreciate the detail behind what each of the images teach us. One gap I always find when people discuss these images is that I don't have the necessary context to understand what's so exciting about them outside of being remarkably pretty
I don't know why but when I see videos of space, I feel something which I cannot express. We are nothing in this enormous space and we are everything in our mind.
@Boz196

It really puts into perspective how utterly meaningless and unimportant our problems are. The entirety of humanity is barely a spec in the scale of the universe. Everyone who as ever come before us or who will come after us will be forgotten to time so why even bother worrying and stressing about our problems?
Just wanted you to know how much I like your videos. So very well made, well-paced, and not overwhelming. Thanks for your time

4:40 Not sure if Webb discovered this... probably not, but the galaxy on the left in Stephan's Quintet is actually not part of the group. It's a foreground galaxy, very foreground. You can actually see this when you notice how you can clearly distinguish singular stars in the image of the left most galaxy, but all the other galaxy's star regions are just a blur. So only 4 of those galaxies are actually interacting... another thing you can notice if you look closely. The leftmost galaxy doesn't seem to be gravitationally affected by the other four... which makes sense since they actually aren't near each other.
