I went to every game in the SEC Women's tournament and had season tickets to one team this year. The absolute garbage the SEC sends as officials CONSISTENTLY is an embarrassment. This happened because the officials are completely inept and clueless.

@@drob2150 I hear this empty question constantly. One doesn't need to be a cop to know when one is bad, or lawyer, or judge, or cook or any other profession. At my age I couldn't if I wanted to but that isn't the point. All anyone has to do is have a basic understanding of the game and see these officials are just awful. I caught myself laughing at calls that went my team's way because the officials were so terrible. And then when they completely suck at what they do NONE OF THEM have any courage to engage coaches and explain/discuss. As soon as a coach opens their mouth its a technical and the official runs to the other side of the court. And of course, this year's new favorite ineptitude, technicals for pointing to a player's teammate for a good pass.

The refs can only call what they see and they can't see everything. But throwing a basketball and then rushing down the court to attack another player? That's hard to miss.

Lately, lots of fights. Basketball is a physical sport. Refs should control the game and see them immediately. If not they escalate later. At the same time players need to control especially when you ran after another for a fight.

The person that retaliates always get caught, that's why smart players wait for a moment within the game to get their get back. Give a lil chicken wing to the side while the other player goes for a rebound, a jump ball, a tie up, a loose ball or sets a screen. Make it look natural. The game and your team are more important than running up and looking to fight. Self-defense is ok if someone is trying to attack you but this could have been handled during regulation.

I'm not going to blame coaches directly for this kind of behavior, but I will say they're part of the solution. They shouldn't wait for their players to be ejected. If they're out of control, send them to the locker room on the spot. A coach doesn't have to wait for the referees to have a review. He or she can have the player off the court and the bench the moment he makes that decision in his own mind. And then if the player isn't ejected by the refs, the coach can make the decision to bring the player back or not.

Wait, was that why more Kentucky players were ejected? I guess that answers a question I had from a video a few weeks ago. If the fight spills into your bench area, you are not allowed to move away from it or you'll get ejected for avoiding a fight.

Hey...it's tournament play. Both teams look to be low seeds. For one of the teams, it's probably the final game of the season. With all of that energy and fervor, they should've made their teams better.
