Bridge Zone. That music. So incredible!
5:12 Well first it served as the inspiration for Wacky Workbench's electrical hazards in Sonic CD, and then those served as the inspiration for Flying Battery's in Sonic Mania.

I'm excited for sonic advance 3 the most. It is my favorite of the gba sonic games. Also if could just be me but it was said that the bridge theme from sonic gamegear 1 was sampled by Janet Jackson. That's strangely amazing if it's true.

Jungle Zone has one of my favorite tracks from all of classic Sonic. Even when I forgot Jungle Zone existed, I still remembered that theme. (I got to play the Game Gear version of Sonic 1 thanks to SADX.)
Did you know: Unused in the game files is a music track for Marble zone. This means that they were planning to bring it back.
I like to think that the person who made the decision to put that chaos emerald in the spike pit in labyrinth zone also worked for Capcom. Specifically with the Megaman franchise. Cuz there's no way anyone originally from Sega is that much of sadist. Right?...

SEGA actually hired Ancient to do this. And as for the fallacy of Mega Man 2 being outsourced, the team if developers over at Capcom that made the original actually created the sequel on their spare time. It's like Mega Man's games on the Game Boy: the first one was a good enough job for the first game of the series that's on the system in question, but then they outsourced to a different developer and the game became somewhat of a downgrade. While Mega Man 2 on GB became far too easy and resulted in the switch back to the Doctor Wily's Revenge developers for the 3rd title, Sonic 2 became Genesis Scrap Brain: The Game, but Aspect stayed around. Pocket Adventure was developed by what would later become Dimps, but that's for a more neo console. Get it? Because it's on the Neo Geo Pocket Color?

I don’t think it was that brutal of a puzzle, but it does suck if it’s your first time through as the monitors don’t always respawn, it’s really satisfying when you manage to use the invincibility to get it. I got it first time by some miracle.

The master system version was my very first videogame. I think... i played it a lot between ages 4-7 but our master system was given away once i got a gamecube.
Hang on, Mr. 64, we've got another benefit on our hands, the Game Gear version has no mouth. Imagine the benefits in real life, the language barrier could be destroyed since we have no mouth to speak out of. Except for sign language.
Stop with these intros bro😭jk Those 3 game references in the intro were a triple trouble for me.

i kinda want a classic sonic game that combines the 8-bit and 16-bit levels into one game
At least the music wasn't messed up.
Spring Yard and Starlight are coming to the remake (at the end of 2020) so now every zone from Genesis and Master System version is in one game.
I LOVE the 8 bit Sonic games! They are pretty underrated especially 1 & 2 8 bit! Edit: QOTD answer: Scrap Brain. The music makes it even better!
Im loving these thumbnails!
Tysm for linking that remake of S1MS. It's a pretty fun game, especially for my first time playing it. Though Jungle Zone can go burn.
This channel is underrated And I know why The videos don't SEEM interesting and fun. But they are.
They were going to bring back marble zone too but it was scrapped. You can still hear the unused 8bit demix on KZread though. (Also the electric things in mania were from wacky workbench from Sonic cd)
This video gets a like just for that intro Now I'm going to watch the rest of it
The electric parts are from Sonic CD BTW.

My siblings had the Master System and Game Gears. I think they had Sonic 1 for both systems.
0:57 it's kinda fun how the situation of the master system in US is totally diferent from Brazil. here in my country, the master system not only outsold the NES but also is still in production to this very day lol in fact, you can buy a new one and it's pretty cheap, around 51 dollars :P the only bad of the new version is that it doesn't support cartridges but at least comes with a bunch of licensed SEGA games installed.

I played this game for the first time in the “mini game-collection” on Sonic Adventure DX.
Oddly, mega man x also has functionally somewhat inconsistent lava. In x2, it acts like a regular hazard, taking away a set amount of health without killing x... yet in x4, it insta kills. I don’t remember how it exactly functioned in x5, though, for whatever reason. EDIT: I checked x1 as well... and its lava doesn’t insta kill either, so it’s probably a difference between the SNES engine and the PS engine.

Yeah, I have played the Android remake, it's pretty fun and made me realize that I love the final levels more, because you can just dip them with super sonic and you can die a lot lmao
At one point, there was a PC/Mobile port of Sonic Chaos, but it was never finished (yes, I played it at some point and it ends at Turquoise Hill Zone).
Sonic on the Game gear was my favorite game, alongside the Genesis version.
Me today: Oh cool he's gonna stream it. Maybe I'll watch it. My internet a week ago: Lol nope not gonna happen buddy.
GR8-bit? That's a really good pun

The electrical things in mania are from wacky workbench from Sonic cd.

My favorite 8-bit Sonic zone has to be Bridge Zone. Its music is great and that’s the last zone I beat before going back to desperately trying to unlock Sonic 3 & Knuckles because I played it on the Sonic Mega Collection.
OMG HE IS STILL THROWIN THESE PUNS!
The 3ds versions on eshop are the best official versions of these game gear games
My fave 8-bit sonic zone is Bridge zone
my favorite zone in terms of music is either labyrinth or scrap brain zone on a gameplay level i am not sure. it's been a few years i beat sonic 1 on master system. i remember scrap brain and sky base being kinda fun ironically.
I can get the game gear version on the 3ds, but I thought would most likely rage quit, so I'm happy it's a better than I thought.

Flying Battery’s electrical orbs came from Sonic CD
Your videos have gotten better and better congrats dude and I prefer Sonic 2 Sonic 3 and knuckles and sonic 1
7:44 There’s one problem with this. *I like bridge zone better.*
Got this game on release day (UK), if I recall correctly. My introduction to Sonic. Been playing Sonic games for, what, 29 year now? Feck! Still a great game IMO. Great music, level design (for the most part, and for the era), Sonic controls pretty well. In fact, not gonna lie, I like this game more than the MD counterpart. The MS Sonics were more about platforming than the MD versions which progressively became more about speed. Which is why I still would rather play Sonic CD over the MD sequels too.
