Places to visit in Maine = literally any town. Maine is the most beautiful state in the US. Seriously. I live in MA, but my family comes from Maine, and all our vacations my whole life have been in Maine. It’s the most amazing state in the country. Ugh sorry, I f*ckin love Maine 😩❤️ I live 30 mins away and have been many times, you will NEVER get tired of Maine. It’s AMAZING. end of rant. Sorry.

Seriously, maine is one of the fewer states that is similar to Europe (safe, stable, clean, and more civilized). In southwest usa is way more like Mexico, and people are very wild, to say the least.

If anywhere you gotta stay in Brunswick for a multitude of reasons, 1. It isn’t too far from Freeport which is the best place to go shopping in Maine 2. It has a park next to the Maine street call the mall and has a bunch of different food trucks there 3. You can visit the Bowden college art museum that’s there which has ancient Mesopotamian scriptures that you can get real close to 4. There is this gelato shop called gelato fiasco and the gelato there is heavenly 5. There is a giant flea market near the anderscoggan

I visited Kennebunkport and Ogunquit Beach Maine last September. Was a great experience. So beautiful and no trash anywhere. I come from a high crime area in Texas, and the whole time I was in Kennebunkport I never saw a policeman or heard a siren. I guess there is no need for them if there is no crime. How refreshing. I'm sure it won't be long before it's overrun by too many people, bringing with them crime, chaos, and rudeness.

The worst state in the country, terrible in every way. With beauty that is merely skin deep, totally devoid of any character, passion or extremes. Its really the people. They leave so much to be desired. They have no depth or personality. Why would any human being voluntarily live in Maine? It has NOTHING going for it. Liberal, arrogant universities and community colleges, snobby culture, and shabby city scapes. Sure you can live there if you have to wear a gas mask to smoke marijuana, or you want to work at some naturalist co op grocery store. Other than that why go?

I live in northern Maine, Aroostook County, Caribou, Maine The folks up here are generous, friendly and most will help out a perfect stranger. I actually live right outside of Augusta near Sydney, Maine. It's sets in the woods but I can see I95 from my kitchen. lol Hey, it's not sitting in downtown Augusta. If you don't own a home in the city then chances are your packed right on top of each other in an apartment building! However, Augusta has been upping their game. The old downtown, along the Kennebec River, has been busy refurbishing many of the old side by side, 3 to 5 story buildings. The retail stores and restaurants, of course, make up the store fronts and the old apartments sit atop them.. I've seen a couple units in different buildings. They all had a cigarette smell, but that mixture of kitty box and eye scorching ammonia gave off an odor I couldn't get away from quick enough! Anyway...I grew up working on the family farm, graduated H.S. in Caribou then spent 22 years in the Army. I'm kinda stuck here in Augusta due to a recent disability. But Caribou and any town up here north of Bangor,Maine and up into AroostookCounty, I'm confident you'll find more people that are quite friendly and willing to accept strangers, truthfully. Granted, there's always a few folks that can't act like a human being but those ones are easy to pick out. You'd have no problems in Caribou and the surrounding area. If you're a sportsman, Aroostook county has it all. Miles of groomed snowmobile and 4 wheeler trails you can ride for hours! If you joined one of their clubs you'd never have to try and find good people ever again. Yeah, anything further south from Aroostook county I'm afraid I can't vouch for. The people up here, especially us baby boomers, are very friendly. Sorry I responded with a novel. Good luck There are quite a few good sized lakes up there, plus an insane amount of brooks, streams and ponds to go along with our lakes.

Actually the best places in Maine are in Massachusetts. Maine is usually covered with snow or infested with bloodsucking insects. The few popular towns are deserted in the winter and crammed with bumbling tourists trying to avoid bugs, eat overpriced lobster or seeking some undiscovered treasure at one of the 10000 antique shops. Save your money and visit Pennsylvania.
