8 BEST GYM SHOES FOR UNDER $100 (2022 Update!)
BEST BUDGET TRAINING SHOES: thatfitfriend.com/best-budget...
If you're trying to spend $100 USD or less and shop for shoes on a budget, then you'll be happy to know there are a lot of great gym shoes on the market that should match your price needs.
While, I know $100 USD isn't necessary the "most" budget-friendly, it can be extremely tough to find any form of quality shoe that costs significantly less than something like $75 USD.
So, I tried to include really strong picks that perform well and don't skimp out on materials or durability and have better price points than some of the more "premium" shoes on the market.
In this best budget gym shoes video, I'm going to cover 8 different shoes that all work well for different training contexts.
0:00 Budget Gym Shoes Intro
0:39 Reebok Nanoflex TR 2
2:40 New Balance FuelCell Shift TR
4:26 Puma FUSE 2.0

8:41 Nike MC Trainer 2
10:57 UA Project Rock BSR 2
12:42 Vans UltraRange EXO
14:57 Adidas The Total
17:07 Final Thoughts
Whether you're wanting a shoe for CrossFit, lifting, HIIT, or wide feet, there are options in this video that should fit your training needs well.
I tried to include a nice range of options that provide different levels of stability, responsiveness, and fit.
If you have additional questions on any of the shoes featured in this video, drop a comment below or reach out to me personally via Instagram (@jake_boly or @that_fit_friend)!

Hey Jake, great content. Thanks for your reply on your other video. Wow you have a lot of useful reviews. You mentioned looking at perhaps more expensive shoes over Black Friday. What would a more expensive alternative to the Trainer V be?

Nano X2, Nike Metcon 7/8, UA TriBase Reign 4, Adidas Dropset. Those are models I'd start with! Thank you, friend!
Hey Jake, great work! Been waiting for long to see a video like this! How does any of those compare with an old model of metcon or nano that could be found for the same price? Im hesitating between a nano 9 and the nanoflex TR2. Which one do you think would be better for crossfit / training?
@thatfitfriend

Go Nano 9 if you have access to them and they’re decently priced. Nanoflex is a good option, but I’d go 9 if you have the opportunity 💪

Nanoflex TR 2!
Hi, just watched and read a bunch of your reviews on training shoes as I want a pair for the gym. I tried some nike metcon 7s but they made my feet hurt (something to do with width or arch support idk). Anyway, Reebok has 40% off right now so i can get fantastic deals on the nano X2/6000. Are these better than the TR 2s? I only started at the gym recently so while im doing barbell work (deadlift, squat) it isn't very heavy 😅 and i plan on joining in with some HIIT classes and trying some plyometrics. Are they the right shoes for me? Though it best to ask you as you are the expert!! 🙂

Hey! Thank you so much for checking out the content. I'd go Nano X2/6000 - they'll be solid for you, especially if you're getting them for 40% off!
Hi, thanks for the advice. In your opinion, does it make sense to buy the Nanoflex V2 if I currently already have the Nanoflex TR ? I use them mainly for CrossFit and running workouts. Would you possibly have some advice on which budget shoe to buy ?
@thatfitfriend

IMO, if you like your Nanoflex TRs and are in need of a new model, then I'd go TR 2s. They're a better model than the original and will be a strong well-rounded performer.

Hey Great video! Im a person that cant decide what shoe is best and i dont have the money to buy every that im seeing so, i want to ask a question: The shoes that im using are a really old nike runing shoes, i wanted something new with way less foam(so i can feel the ground more), i have been having problems of being stable doing exercises. Im seeing 3 pairs: Adidas Total, Pumas fuse 2.0 and NANO X2 , i cant decide which of them will be best for me. Im just a casual, wanting to build muscle until a certain part and be healthy. I do squat, deadlift and more(involing machines or dumbbells). Im tiny so tiny feet, and im not very heavy. What of these can you recommend me? If you have other pair that you think it can help me, tell me. Thank you for Reading. 😄

I'd go Nano X2 if you want a little more drop AKA a shoe with a slightly heel. If you want a flat shoe, then the Adidas The Total can be a great option especially if you want a lower-to-the-ground feeling shoe! Either or should work well, so I'd make your choice based on the heel-to-toe drop you like!
Hi Jake. I'm a fan from Brazil. Have you ever tried the Skechers Go Train Viper? And what about the New Balance Minimus Prevail?
@thatfitfriend

Hey! I haven't formally looked into the Skecher for reviews. I used to have a pair of the Prevails, but they don't make them anymore, so I don't think I'm going to review them at this time. I loved my OG Prevails, though. Miss that model.
