Join Cassi Niemann for a less-than-30-minute workout where we build in intensity over shorter and shorter pieces. Start at a conversational pace and build up to a much higher intensity, focusing on a mastering of the stroke rate to bring that intensity.

Thanks for your channel. Rowing for the first time today, nice the ‘90s. Am out of shape so going easy and learning what I can a bit at a time. I stNd a lot, don’t walk enough, and get cramps in my toes and ankles at night which wake me up. Grr. As a senior I wonder how sore I’ll be in the morning. Only did the 1st part as I have to go to work tomorrow, lol. We just bought this second hand machine and are hoping to get some good conditioning during the rainy winter months and without having necessarily to leave home.

Completed it this morning, got in 4,585m total, avg. 19/22/24/26spm. Very good workout! I enjoy interval workouts and even mix in other activities sometimes during rest (push ups, Russian twist, sit ups etc.)

Absolutely! We do loads of workouts like that and have a whole row-along series with off-machine work on UCanRow2 on Demand and in our RowStrong program. Love it!

Interesting to see that you drop your arm/hand position below your knees and Dark Horse does the same whereas I keep my hands up and concentrate on keeping the chain line horizontal thinking that was the strict way of doing it. Is dropping the hands more efficient or just a carryover from water rowing days? 🤔

Yep, holdover from on-water days. It's one of the things I'm working on all the time. Forever in pursuit of a more efficient stroke 😊
