I continue to get an error code Knock Sensor Low voltage Bank One. I’ve replaced both and the pig tails look good. I know they adjust timing and that is the source of my low power, engine sputtering issues. I need to chase wires all the way when I get home but do you have any other suggestions? Also, what code reader should I get to communicate well with workhorse W22 8.1L?

I was not going to take the toad.. but after the wife said to take it We were on our way only 10 minutes of driving I heard a clunk clunk and saw the temp starting to rise I stopped I blew the belt.. got in the jeep and drove to a few auto supplies to try to find the belt did not find the correct belt ,,, now to get it on I see if installed wrong the water pump and other pullies can go the wrong direction went to a auto shop and got a layout and ( are you ready 8 hours later we were on our way) after I do a lot of work on auto was hard laying on your back and the belt was too tight.. At the G M dealers pulled all info from there dealerships and at Auto Zone I got a few belts and one was correct now I carry 2 belts and tell all my friends that have Motorhomes to carried a belt for the mechanic or their self .. Thanks for all your Workhorse videos. You've helped me numerous times with my '04 W22. I had a problem with a bad miss when under heavy load, i.e. pulling a grade that required downshifting to 3rd (out of 5). It finally through a code indicating a MAF problem. I found some corrosion on the connector pins. I mechanically cleaned and used a small amount of DeoxIT. Also put dielectric grease on the rubber sealing surface of the plug. Seemed to fix until I hit another heavy rain. I've repeated the cleaning but have little confidence that it's solved. Thinking of splicing in a new plug (source?) and replacing the MAF. Would appreciate your thoughts.

I would go ahead and replace the MAF first ours failed many miles back and many other workhorse owners have had the same problem. Look at your old one for part number. I have a Scan Gauge II, but would also like to have the ECM set to turn on the CEL for all the codes you pointed out. Is there a program that can set these to come on? Possibly at a Chev or GM dealer, or maybe Brazel's can do it? I have contacted them about changing the PPM setting to correct my speedo that reads 10% fast, and they said they can do that. Just have to get there one of these days.

Hi, Thanks for your videos! I have a 2003 Tiffin Allegro with 18,000 miles on a 8.1L Workhorse v8. Workhorse W22 chassis. We bought it last October (2020). Then we both got covid, then I got pneumonia. We have only camped in it 3 times and those have been in May 2021. We have not used 2 full tanks of gas. It ran great until this last Monday. On our way to Alum Creek State Park it ran great 3/4 of the way there. Then it spit, sputtered and died 12 times. Luckily it restarted every time and we got their safe. I called my son who is a Mechanic. He said check for loose battery cables connections, Install new air filter and new fuel filter which I did. i also put 2 bottles of HEET in about 30 gallons of gas (in case of water) along with a bottle of injector cleaner. I thought we'd fixed it but about 4 miles from home on our return trip it did it again twice! I am old but still handy and can change the plugs and wired but if that was it, it wouldn't be intermittent? I called my nephew,a mechanic, and he thinks it is the fuel pump. I don't know if i'm handy enough to remove the gas tank to change the fuel pump. Would the fuel pump be intermittent?

@@sunnyjim5816 he shows it in one of the videos, it was an OBD2 splitter cable. Though I have often wondered if you could just put a cable between the other port on the first scangauge and into the next. Since they each have 2 connectors for ease of mounting.

Assuming you have a scan gauge that will show you gps grams per second on the MAF sensor. Test like this: from a rolling start put your foot to the floor wide open throttle fully loading the engine up to 4000 RPM you should see at least 230 gps on your gauge. If you don't then you need a new MAF very common part to fail on the 8.1 Vortec This is the correct one to use Delphi AF10043 Mass Air Flow Sensor amzn.to/3iP0CKX Text or call me if you have any questions 606-875-0125 Kevin
