I feel like the old strider looks like a tardigrade more than a pill bug. It would make sense though, because tardigrades can survive extreme conditions, like the Nethers heat.

Actually the donkey isn’t the only mob that can heal naturally. The other one is the allay as they automatically regen 1 heart per second, meaning they can survive burning in fire as their regen outpaces the fires damage
